You, sir, with all due respect, bring way too much scientific analysis and reasonable deductions into a fabulously entertaining bit of future apocalyptic disaster. Please refrain from logical analysis and common sense.

The rabbits have brought this on to us, and we can't wish it away.
Elmer Fudd is the only one that can stop this calamity.

Please all, continue with the doom, my coffee is hot and I am ready to absorb all the gloom and forboding.

DOOM ON!!!!

I could say i don't need to worry about that, but i am concerned as i might reincarnate right here on planet earth (Or not, who knows?)

But since then i think if we already haven't destroyed ourselves or are a slave race to some aliens
maybe the asteroid "frees" us , or we already (or aliens who enslaved us
) have the technology to blow it up

Wonder if it could be destroyed with earth penetrating nuclear devices considering the accuracy we have these days. I hope so because landing on the thing and planting explosive devices is still well only within the realms of Hollywood movies. Won't be getting here for some time so we should probably be working to build some kind of antimatter device as I imagine that would indeed vaporise the sucker if we don't blow ourselves up constructing or launching such a thing!

We are ALL going to die. Its the commonality we all share. Whether it be cancer, heart attack, old age or asteroid, its inevitable. So why worry about it. Just try to enjoy life. I have a feeling when it happens its like a TV shutting off anyway, its like one minute its WTF, and the next just nonexistence. So why worry about that?

If you would just watch the whole movie. At the end Morgan Freeman
says the waves went in all directions. So it hit Africa which means the
wave traveled east also. What's not to get?

Why worry, just try to enjoy life? Don't you understand? The masses ENJOY WORRYING. They are not mutually exclusive. it is healthy for the vast majority of people! All of us need high blood pressure, flushes the veins and gives all a nice red glow.

Without worry, the heart rate slows, you become lethargic, and when the TV shuts off you will never even notice, and there is no worry of heart attack, it will just slow down to a crawl and then stop for no reason at all.

You need a reason to keep that blood pumping, and that heart rate up, and if your life has any comfort and security at all, you ARE IN DANGER!

So bring on the asteroids, the comets, nuclear war, supervolcanoes, government collapse...my resting heart rate goes below 50 every time I go to the doc, so my life is way too cushy, I need the worry so I can get my butt out of this recliner, and shut down the TV myself, and get to work worrying and fretting.

Its how we survive. So, worry on, and fret at will, it continues our existence.

Please continue with the aforementioned doom.

I wonder if the dinosaurs thought as much 65 million years ago just before they got scudded and made crispy?

I kind of agree with you premise to enjoy life considering to do otherwise is simply wasting time.

Oddly, there seems to be some emotions involved in a post about an asteroid hitting in over 800 years. Really?

There is absolutely nothing you or I or Joe Blow can do about that for the next few hundred years... so why don't we just exercise a little humor or imagination and leave it at that? No sense getting riled up about this...

IF we continue to progress technologically at the recent rate there is no reason why we would not be harnessing the energy of the sun come 800 years from now. In that case, an asteroid would be child's play, no?

Yikes, what a pain in the asteroid.

Seriously tho, at the rate we are going, I doubt there will be anybody left here to worry about it. Wars and rumors of wars and civil unrest and most of all technology. Instead of technology being our savior, I think it will be our undoing. With genetic engineering and new and better "mouse traps" to kill each other with, civil unrest and raping of the planet, there probably won't be much left...by then, the earth may end up looking like mars. It would be great if technology would save us if we still exist but look how many times we see technology used in a negative way and for producing a negative outcome. Einstein was right, "Mans technology has far exceeded his humanity". If we keep going on the path we have been....no worries for the future. Sorry to be Ms. Doomie Gloomie, no one can be sure of the future so could be all wrong.

Anyhow, no need for anyone to get their knickers in a bunch...especially if they are wearing a thong...that won't work anyhow. LOL.

Please refer to my previous post. There is an asteroid that will bring lots of doom in 800 years, but our biggest danger is complacency, note the aformentioned slow heart rate and lethergy.

But I agree, getting riled up, and actually doing something about it defeats the purpose, removes the cause for worry, therefore the bad effects discussed above come to fruition.

We must worry, and enjoy our worry, but don't stop the big rock, there are 800 years of generations that also need to worry.

(I thinks I have forgotten the original topic....)
(and FYI this is humor.....I'm more worried about dem waskelly wabbits eating my garden than I am from some rock in the deep reaches of darkness)

This is real doom, people.

This isn't made-up doom like drones, war, Ebola, or Mylie Cyrus.

Just remember, calm rational behavior never gets any attention.

But if we, as a collective society, soil our pants, then this might get the attention it deserves.

We will travel to other galaxies in less than 20 minutes by then. If we're still alive...

How do you categorize ebola as "made up doom"?
It's a disaster in Africa. You wouldn't write the same phrase if you'd live there.

Dead bodies in the streets and people are afraid the be infected. Have some respect for gods sake!

Doesn't anyone realize that asteroids impact like raptors? While you are all focused on the one you see ... that's when the attack comes. Not from the front and the one you see, but from the sides, from the other two asteroids that you didn't even know were there.

You see, asteroids are pack impactors ... and they are out in force today.

LOL

Mylie Cyrus! The end of society as we know it! That tongue alone will cause the collapse of multiple civilizations. It will be Nightfall again and again and again!
