I know that maybe this question was asked before. But I really wanna know. Why do you guys believe in religion? I was born a Roman chatolic but I did not believe in anything my self since 9. Because of all bad that happend to me , I had to take care of my self. God didn't help me. Let me hear about you're opinion

Most people believe because they were born into a family of a particular religion and were told the religious dogma of that religion over and over again until they believed it. This is called conditioning. Once they become adults the conditioning has become so strong that they will rationalize away evidence that contradicts their beliefs.

Well, I would be one exception -- I wasn't raised in a church, never even saw the inside of one until I was a teenager. Of my 51 years, during all but about 15 of them I would have been irreligious.

Well you certainly are an exception. Usually when someone changes religious stances in the middle of their life they go form being religious to not being religious.

I was a one eye'd atheist ready to take on the religious fanatics this world until at age 18 a little bird told me that God existed. Since then I have had many other experiences that re-affirms my belief in a spirit world. Perhaps God is helping you in ways that eludes logic. To grow we sometimes have to suffer anguish to soften our hearts.

I grew up in an ubber fundamentalist Christian environment and never questioned the existence of God, but the "spiritual" was forboden! LOL!

The more spiritually aware I become, the less I believe in a "god", especially the biblical god!

The spiritual word is just as real as color is. But "god" isn't a color. It's just as real as the fact that matter is made up of atoms, but "god" isn't a "supreme atom" either. So why would I believe in a supreme super spirit that created all spirits and atoms too?

The idea of "god" is too obscure for me to align any positive allegiance to. So, although I do believe in the spiritual realm and in a spiritual hierarchy, I don't believe in a supreme spiritual being as a "god" any more than a supreme leader of any nation is a "god" of that nation. So, in the meantime, I'll consider myself an "one eye'd atheist ready to take on the religious fanatics of this world", because they do more harm than good.

It's really amazing how it works. You will find that the people who do have religion forced down their throats at a young age are likely the ones who will rebel against it somewhere down the track. It most cases I don't blame them either because most of the time what they are actually being taught is nothing but garbage.

On the contrary though, I also know people who have never touched a religious book until their adult age and they tend to do the opposite if they look for answers through religion because they can come to their own conclusions and decisions without being forced into believing something that they would later find out is ludicrous.

Darren Wilson's documentary's are worth checking out...

In this explosive documentary, filmmaker Darren Wilson attempts to do the impossible: film God and understand His character. Along the way, Darren and his team encounter powerful witch doctors, violent gang leaders, Hindu holy men, and everyday people with extraordinary experiences to tell. Father of Lights attempts to tear away much of the bad press the Almighty has received over the years, and reveals a God who is far better than anyone could have possibly imagined.

“The ‘religious spirit’ is rooted in man trying to be righteous outside of a relationship with God. And it persecutes anything that looks like a relationship with God. Just as importantly, it becomes another set of rules. And I think the ‘religious spirit’ can take on lots of different faces.” ~ Kris Vallotton

Ever wondered if miracles really happen? Think the age of miracles is past? Think again! The film maker claims to have captured miracles occurring in real time, and he delivers. In this film, the director goes world-wide documenting God's supernatural move on the earth today. You'll see footage from the US, Mozambique Africa, China, Bulgaria...I can't even remember all the places. You really do see deaf ears opened and the lame healed. This is the most powerful evidence for the existence of the God of the Bible I've ever encountered. If you want to have your faith built, your heart encouraged, and maybe your theology challenged, you need to see this film.

“The ‘religious spirit,’ it’s demonic, and it attempts to substitute a demonic power or a fleshly power for the power of the Holy Spirit. And the ‘religious spirit’ is more concerned with what we look like than what we really are.” ~ Jack Deere

“That’s kind of the heart of pharisaism. It’s religious activity that we never let get to our heart. Or, if it gets to our heart, it’s an affection for the religious activity as opposed to God. So this people, Isaiah 29, this people, “I’m on their lips, but I’m far from their heart.” ~ Jack Deere

“The ‘religious spirit’ wants punishment. Some measure of punishment. It was the religious spirit that had the priests, the pharisees, with stones in their hands wanting to kill. Jesus is right there with the woman caught in adultery. His interest wasn’t ‘my image… what are people going to think.’ It wasn’t His image. The interest was, here’s a person that’s redeemable, and He wasn’t going to get her turned around through judgement.” ~ Bill Johnson

“There’s something about, when people for the first time in their life feel loved unconditionally, there’s nothing you can do to earn His love, He’s just wrapping His arms around you at your worst state, at your worst binge, and that’s the revelation we try to give; that there’s no way in the world that you can outrun the love of God.” ~ Matthew Barnett

“The Father has a personality. He’s God, He has a personality. And there is judgement and He does get angry, and the thing that makes Him angry is when people have no hunger, when people reject His Son it makes Him angry. But when we know the love of Jesus, then we know the love of the Father.” ~ Heidi Baker

I believe that you can get help from a non human source that can comfort you and make you feel loved/energized even if you are in a room totally alone. What you call it is not really important to me. That feeling of love/energized made my body feel more alive than I ever felt before.

But then make your own observations of what is and do not take my word for it.

I watched it.

Yes it's well written. Yes I have felt that way before.

Heeeeere in comes faith.

noun 1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.

Faith is what gives God the power and will to manifest himself to you. Granted they're times when you've lost ALL faith and God chooses to intercede. He does so not because you have demanded it but because at that moment, when you've reached the point of no return, he manifests to the faithless (and faithful)out of love.

This demand was made in the the music video. Show yourself as God and THEN I will follow you.

Who in the hell wouldn't?

FAITH is sooooooo powerful among humanity in general.

Only thing even more so is LOVE.

I'm sure HOPE is thrown around in there somewhere...

Kind of reminds me of this....

Smite me oh...
