I'm fine with commentary as long as it's intelligent. His is not. It's also very annoying. It's also poop stirring.

I'm all for all the new social media, but I worry it's turning people into morons because they are so obsessed with popularity. More and more I'm getting the impression people don't have a cause, they just want that little slice of internet fame.

lol I thought you guys were referencing the guy doing the human mic saying that they'd just reform up and do the march as they wanted again. But yeah, the guy doing the stream is kind of annoying; however, can't find another stream. Been looking too, lol.

Whichever option does not violate the protester's human and constitutional rights.

If the police won't protect your rights and you can't defend yourself from the police, you have no rights. The United States is absolutely not the Land of the Free. The people who died to give us this country would be so ashamed.

True.

He is in a place where he can get the crowd to chant as well,
and I don't think I would want that guy to be doing crowd control.

He got them yelling at the police when they arrested that jason guy.

Seems the Ferguson stream is offline? And that NYC "protest", what a joke. That doesn't strike me as a protest at all, but rather a bunch of bored people looking for online attention through any means possible. Antagonistic mouths is where protesting stops & trouble starts, and that's where the NYC one is headed, IMO.

How are these people in NYC surprised that they are going to get arrested?

Their entire mob was blocking an entire street...you can't do that anywhere...but definitely not in NYC. I don't care how peaceful you are...you start blocking streets with a mob, you are getting arrested.

4 or 5 so far, the surveillance needed to pick a few out of crowds like this is unbelievable.

Started out okay. Went south after someone decided to instigate an impromptu unplanned march. Never a good idea. March that I was in that went south--same thing. Some genius started getting people to chant "Take the bridge!" and altered the march course.

Why people do that kind of thing is beyond me but they basically take something good and make it not so good to awful.

They are letting groups go in NYC through a police corridor.

I feel sorry for the business owners waiting & watching with baited breath right now. If the NYC twits go bonkers, that's a lot of stores that could be messed up for a stupid inexcusable reason (misdirected rage)

What confuses me is how some folks are deducing that the demonstrators are also doing the looting...you know, making a connection and tying it all together. They can't be in 2 places at once. It should be evident that there are more then one group of people relevant to all of this. I feel like every demonstration I ever heard of ends up this way. It will be peaceful and then, all of a sudden, someone throws a bottle or something...I call them "pot stirrers". I swear, there are folks that just do such to try and ruin a harmless event, or instigators/agent provocateurs that join in to screw things up. As far as the looting, that can very well be individuals from out of the area and/or not involved in the demonstrations...folks seizing the moment to take advantage of the situation, folks that don't care at all about the shooting. The bad aspect to that is they spoil what was trying to be accomplished...the attention that people were trying to get about what happened and they turn it into a 3 ring circus of violence and mayhem and the protesters suffer the consequences.

When something gets thrown at police during one of these things, I get to feeling in just about every case, it is a "managed"/staged occurrence with a purpose in mind and only rarely an actual violent, angry person. Why would they want to ruin what they were trying to accomplish? Does not make sense.

I am glad to see Capt. Johnson of the State Police there in Ferguson and it is my hope that all will go well. He seems like a decent, stand up guy and one folks can relate to and work with...lets hope so. Such a tragic situation all the way around.
