Animals are truly amazing.

His blindness gave him super heightened senses. Simply a amazing story.

Meet Norman, an adorable yellow Labrador Retriever from Oregon USA. He was rescued by Steve McDonald and his partner Annette after they noticed his sweet loving nature. They knew right away that they had found a very special dog when they first met Norman.

Not long after rescuing Norman, tragically he developed a disease in his eyes which left him blind. Nothing could be done to save his eyesight but the family were delighted to see he was just as happy and as long as he could hear them call him, everything was just fine.

Then one day Annette took Norman to the beach for a swim. This was one of his favourite things to do as the open spaces meant he could run around with no worries. During the trip, Annette noticed a young girl struggling and starting to drown in the ocean!

Without a second thought, Norman plunged into the water to save her. Annette told the girl to scream out so Norman could hear her. She followed the instruction and in no time Norman made it over to her. The drowning girl grabbed onto Norman who then followed the sound of Annette’s voice as he towed the little girl back to safety.

Loving creature! Animals can be more human than humans we see so many videos of people walking right by someone who needs help now, it happened to a friend of mine she was in her 80's and fell in the park, broke her hip could not move, she begged the passing people for help and people walked on by for 3 hours! She was a wealthy woman and well dressed in a nice area Morro Bay CA.... it is just boggling!

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah I truly believe animals have a more caring heart than most humans on this planet. Which really makes you think which is more "evolved".

What really got me about this story is the dog almost ran/swam to the little girl without even seeing her. Natural instinct kicked in.

Hurry!
Punch a wall!
Open a tightly lidded jar!
Chop down a tree and build a shed!

Just kidding.
But MANstrating almost killed me!!

Dogs are not only awesome, but I believe they are one of the only places to see true unconditional love in action.

Dogs are so amazing and loving. If I was this girl, the next day I would have brought Norman a large juicy Rib-Eye Steak!

What a heart touching story of life. When I was a younger man I did not find this stuff interesting. As I grow older the things that really matter are taking front stage. Arrogance, indifference, intolerance are slowly leaving me and amazing enough being replaced with empathy, kindness, patience, tolerance.

I wish I had always had a kind heart.

Imagine all the hero's who weren't saved and had to be put down because there was no one to love them and give them a forever home. It is so sad to know just how many animals don't get that chance at life. Norman was an amazing animal and even saved a human's life. Always check your local animal shelters and save a life when you can, they just might return the favor one day.

Dogs are something. Thanks for the story!

My dog always shows up (in my dream) when I'm about to have a nightmare and chases bad entities away so I haven't got any nightmare for years now! I have seen her do astral projection - they have souls!
