You're more likely to be killed by lightning than Hamas rockets

Let me be VERY CLEAR about something:

I know very well the dangers of radical Islam, and am horrified by recent apparent rapid spread of it.

But this reaction is incomprehensible. It's like if your teenager talks back to you and you break his/her jaw.

Even worse in this case actually, because you are giving the Palestinians something to rally behind. You are giving them cause, you are legitimizing their claims of oppression and abuse, and you are creating martyrs.

Israel is simply pouring 200octane fuel on the fire.

No it's like your neighbor is constantly shooting at your house, the authorities do nothing, and you warn the residents of that house that you are going to take action if they don't stop him, the other people go out and buy him more bullets, and then you return fire killing him and end up hitting one of the people buying him bullets.

Sure the other people might be pissed you fired into their house, but maybe they should not have been buying him bullets cheering him on as he shot up your house. If Palestinians want peace they should stop supporting Hamas and stop supporting rocket attacks, and stop supporting the intended slaughter of Israeli citizens.

Speaking of probability (since that's the OP), there is an estimation of 100 lightning strikes per second worldwide, making it a staggering 80,000,000 lightning strikes per day around the world.

Considering these numbers, i'm sure that if you take the ratio of people killed per rockets vs. people killed per lightning strikes, you will get a much, much higher ratio of people getting killed by rocket attacks.

Once again, the comparison is just ridiculous, naive and obviously thoughtless.

I used lightning because it's something commonly compared to when discussing probability. As in, "you're more likely to be struck by lightning than be bitten by a shark"

I actually did try to look up the figures of lightning deaths in israel, but there was no information available.

The problem is your not making any sense. You say Hamas rockets are not killing enough people for Isreal do anything about it. What about the 1038 bombings and terror attacks against Israel? How many of the do they ignore before they close down every way in and out of gaza including the tunnels. 804 dead in suicide bombings in a 9 year span between 1999 and 2008, how many of those are allowed to happen before Israel should do anything?

Does Israel make things worse by building in the occupied territories? Of course that just provokes trouble. Are Israel crack downs after being attack to heavy? No doubt. However, after being invaded a half dozen times and having populations of people who do not even think you have the right to exist you tend stop giving a crap about being nice.

So you can toss words like shill and try and pretend that what is going on is some how black and white and that one side is so evil and the other so good all you want. That however fails to even begin to grasp what has been going on in that region for over a hundred years.
