"How many hookers, cigarettes, and bottles of whisky, will I have to go though to get prepared for this commercial?"

"4.5, 57, and 3... Oh, and here is some crack to really make it look authentic. I traded your belt for the crack, you don't need it for this part anyway."

Trivago Guy vs. Captain Obvious

Trivago Guy would beat Captain Obvious to a pulp, roll him up, and smoke him... sans filter.

I guess the ad guys decided their market would prefer the 'laid back day old stubble open shirt and jeans kinda guy' he should have done that finger click thing at the end and said 'yeah....smokin...baby'.

ETA There are far scruffier than that doing advertising in UK TV ads. Perhaps the UK was /is their market?!

I never thought to create a thread on it, but since the first time my gf saw the Trivago guy and the clean pc guy...she looked in half-amazement and half-shock. She used to work in advertising. Her response
"Are ad companies so broke now they just pick random homeless people up to do commercials? "

It must have worked if somebody can start a thread about this carp and have people respond.

I had no idea who the triago guy was even though I'd seen the commercial several times and completely ignored it.

Ever notice how the older your parents got the more they commented on commercials?

It's a symptom of senility.

Considering everyone's talking about this, the team that came up with this commercial deserves a bonus - well done!
This is good advertising and the world of marketing, advertising and communication salutes you!

The only people talking about this are the feeble of mind.

How pathetic.

He looks like about 2/3rds of the population. Not to mention, he's on TV and he's probally making bank for that fact. If you want to rake one over the coals....please rake "Flo" she needs it way more than Trivago guy.

Could be worse, they could have chosen the current Justin Bieber thug fashion, of tattoos, sagging pants and the backward baseball hat thing. lol

I didn't either.

It is the scruffiness apparently. Compared to some UK ads that guy is 'well dressed' and I would say, generally average for the population.

The ''hey'' ''life is easy'' attitude stood out more to me, but that is because I know advertising having worked in the industry.

How that 'style' ever got to be HAS to be a conspiracy. Perhaps all the dodgy homosexual UK politicians decided on making 'gay prison code' mainstream fashion. ew.

Bieber is a fashion victim if ever there was and shouldn't be a role model for kids, or a pinup for girls, dressed like that.

I thought I was the only one. Everyone in my house knows how creepy I think this guy is. The word I associate most often with him is skeazy. I imagine he smells of bourbon and hot garbage. Have you seen the new commercial where they only show him from far away? Like the camera guy refused to get any closer.

His torso is so freaking long, maybe that's the best wardrobe could come up with?
He would definitely punch Cpt. Obvious in the throat and stuff him in a trunk. Madison Ave.: 1 - Me: 0
