-sigh- i really hate this kind of simple-mindedness.....always about "race", and color, and differences with you lot...

ALL illegals are a problem....the reason that the ones from mexico, central america, and south america are always being brought up, is because they, by and large, account for the highest number of illegals currently in the united states.....

it's nothing to do with "race", or color...it's a matter of numbers.

if you were at all concerned with being intellectually honest, you'd see that fact, quite plainly...

eh, it does raise suspicions though, given your use of blanket statements, heavily using the word "illegal", "criminal", and generally trying to associate the majority crossing over as somehow being involved with the violent drug-cartels of mexico, when in fact the majority are perfectly content to do honest work. I mean you've bought so much into that dehumanizing rhetoric that you can't seem to even accept that these are people, like you, in a terrible situation, trying to make the best of it. Jeb Bush got a lot of fire for the whole "act of love"-talk, when he was simply offering a perspective on illegal immigration that wasn't the dehumanizing fear-mongering spewed forth by demagogues.

I know how much you guys hate the term "undocumented immigrant", but that's a far better description for describing those who came from central-america, many of whom qualify for refugee status and thus aren't illegal immigrants, heck many from mexico might qualify too.

but at the same time I'm starting to think that even you don't necessarily buy into all of that right-wing nonsense, you're just a contrarian, likely a student, and mostly just want to argue for the sake of arguing.

now it's time to cue the illegal sympathizers.

I'll never understand why some people feel the need to conclude their threads with baited comments like this. I mean, I suppose if you're just trying to provoke people rather than initiating meaningful discourse, it's a good way to go about it.

they snuck over the border, didn't ask, didn't apply for citizenship, or refugee status.....they just snuck in, and started squatting.....so the word "illegal" accurately describes what they did, and criminal accurately describes them, because they broke the law...

until you live with the results of unchallenged illegal immigration, you can't really sit here, and tell me anything about it..it all sounds nice, and dandy, and fine, when you're on the sidelines, not in the middle of it...

and FYI, no...i'm not a contrarian, i just like facts, and dislike B.S. additionally, i haven't been a student for quite a long time...and i don't subscribe to any "wings"

rah rah I was born here so I get to stomp my feet and yell that no one else can come here unless they jump through hoops that I will never ever have to deal with!!!!
What about being born somewhere gives you the right to say that no one else is allowed to come there?
I don't care if they could be escaping danger and corruption and just looking to better their life's for them and their families.
This has been happening since the dawn of America, people coming over to our country from another country, hence why we have the big ole lady in NY.
Yes bad people come over, but it is not a majority of them. These people are escaping a land that has been decimated by the United States and the war on drugs. Just look at ops like fast and furious and Wide receiver, us literally giving the cartels guns. And that is what we know about. Imagine what we don't.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

right, but those people actually became citizens....

if there is no such thing as a citizen, and anyone can just come here, and exist, then what is the point of borders, what is the point of government, and what is the point of having a country?

we agree on most things, but it would appear this is not one of those things...

I think there should be citizens but I don't think we should have a process that is designed to fail and that is full of red tape. And I don't think that just cause you were lucky enough to be born in the US that you get to act like this your land and no one else deserves to be here. Put your self in their shoes, would you be willing to wait over a year to be allowed to escape the constant violence that surrounds you or would you do what you had to do to protect your self or your kids.
If we are just going to throw money at the problem then how about immigration reform, if we just want them to pay taxes and contribute then how about we make it easier for them to become citizens, not throw them back in the fire and build a big wall and militarize it.
Or lets make all citizens go through what one has to go through to be deemed worthy of becoming a citizen. I bet there would be a lot of citizens that are here in this nation that could not pass the background portion of it. But what since they were born here they get to stay?
And how about we focus on the reasons they come over here? Cause companies LOVE to hire them and pay them under the table so they can save money. If you give a mouse a cookie, he is going to come back for milk.
Lets focus on the people giving before we condemn those that are taking.
If you came looking for work and some one offered you work, why are you the bad guy for taking it?

Not the majority?I live amongst them and there is very little respect for the law in their culture and it shows. You can live in your ivory tower and welcome all the illegals you want but you don`t have to live with the consequences, just like other ivory tower progressives.

Lol I live in Southern Californian, I see plenty. Recently just moved form fallbrook,ca. Avocado capital of world, who do you think worked the fields??
Just like plenty in the culture of citizens, many have little respect for the law, it is not isolated to the the 'illegals'.
Majority of them are here to work the jobs that are offered to them.
So again, focus your anger on the companies that have no regard for the law and hire them and pay them under the table cause it saves them massive amount of money. Both hiring and paying them under the table are guess what, against the law!
All they are doing is taking what is being offered to them, can't really blame them for taking the work.

There were 2,000 rapes committed in North Carolina in the past year by illegals/immigrants. Not getting into the only Mexican dealy...may be illegals from various areas....nevertheless, a lot of violent crime no matter how ya want to construe it.

My family lives in Louisiana and has had to move twice already because of the onslaught of illegals ruining neighborhoods. They arrive late at night and move in with "others"...sometimes 20 or more carrying sleeping bags and mattresses. Noise ensues. No regard for neighbors property. Kids throwing fast food wrappers all over the place, coming onto peoples property, stealing, fooling around with neighbors possessions, jumping on nice vehicles, new ones or not....if you scold them about it, they are brazen and rude and nasty. The parents could care less. They have way too many "parties" for being so pitifully bad off. They don't like their own country, fix it instead of ruining someone elses. Many times cars would be found broken into with items missing. The adults, many not working yet have way too much traffic coming to their place...dealing at times, as police show up eventually at some of their homes and they get carted off. I feel sorry for folks that have it bad but not for folks that have no respect or caring relevant to the culture and country they have arrived at.

The new arrivals that act decent and civil, I do have feelings for those. Unfortunately, Texas and some other border states and ranchers are having a terrible time with crime and destruction of property...finding human excrement and garbage on their land and dead, half eaten cattle and such. Even a cat knows enough to cover up its own crap, as I've stated before. Acceptable behavior is one thing but blatant disregard for USA countrymen, that is another thing!

So many are rude when in stores and I know Spanish language and they do say some really rude/crude things about us regular citizens. Granted, there are some nice, honest ones looking for a better life...I just wish I saw more of those kind. It looks like we will be moving for a 3rd time as the latest new neighborhood we just settled into is starting to have the same problems...crime, garbage all over, rude/crude behavior, theft and cars being played with/jumped on. I got a HEMI and don't appreciate the hood getting scratched up and dents/bumps all over AGAIN. When you have to constantly put up with such crap, it gets daunting.

Mostly agree, hounddog. I don't know why this hasn't been treated like the invasion that it is. Maybe now it will be taken more seriously, but I won't hold my breath.

eta:
It's more than one bad story, this one just strikes at the core right now. I personally know two families struck by unbelievable tragedies caused by illegals. And you now what happens to them? Nothing! They slink back to Mexico and later reenter the States. Who cares if they killed people here right?

First off where are the thousands upon thousands of these stories, since you guys love to say all illegals are all bad guys looking to kill you and yours? After all like you people love to say...that there are millions of undocumented in America, so naturally there should be stories like this...at least in the thousands.

Secondly..imagine how America would look to the rest of the world and called this an invasion..

An invasion by children....only the right would call this an invasion and not a humanitarian problem ..

Did you know that the classification for child is actually for a person up to 32 yrs old? Nah you wouldn't know that because your easily manipulated, for your sympathy.

Temecula/murrieta sure, not Fallbrook there buddy.
Military town at the best and not a very high income area. Lived right outside the gate of Pendleton for a while and then off in the boonies in rainbow. Both lower income areas with the agricultural workers making up a good chunk of the residency.
Would you be willing to share your knowledge of the area that let's you say it is the epitome of ivory tower elitism?

There's a pretty big business lobby that pays politicians to allow illegals to work for low wages and no benefits. When there are profits to be made from non-American labor, those who 'support' politicians are the ones whose votes really count.
