A Bright Light On my Landing Around 2am

Hello ATS!!! (Waves)

I would like to ask anyone's opinion of what this light was last night on our landing at around 2am this morning...

Firstly I will like to say my Partner isn't the believing type when it comes to anything Paranormal, me on the other hand have had countless experiences with spirits.

Anyway, this morning we had just got in to bed and started to nod off when my Partners whispers to me ''Did you see that?''. I didn't see anything because when he told me it had gone, But to him the light was so bright he could see the bathroom and the landing and it lasted 5 seconds and maybe more just before he opened his eyes to notice this light. Prior to that before going to bed he told me it felt like someone walked past him.

Anyway we both fell asleep and when we spoke to each other when he had got up, which I said it could had been lightning, but lighting doesn't last that long and it's just a flash. There was no cars or anyone with torches, we would always see the light of a car in our bedroom and we would have heard a car clearly as well.

I know I didn't see it but my partner isn't the type to say he saw something unusual and swear down on his mothers grave about it either, so I do believe he did see this light and for the fact I was the one saying oh it could be this or it could be that, and for him to say it looked like a beam... Well I'm just gutted I didn't see it

Any of you guys had this or know of this?
Any information much appreciated

This "landing". Is it something you created for et landings?!? What is it you are doing?

A landing usually refers to a base between stairs... like a patch of floor halfway up a stairway before it turns. I used to live in a split-level, so where you entered the house there was a landing with the front door, a closet door, and a stairway leading up to the second floor and a stairway leading down to the bottom floor. That's my understanding of what is usually meant by "landing"... but I know on ATS you can never be too sure.


OP - interesting story. It is impossible to know if it was paranormal or not as they are many possibilities. I know I have all kinds of weird sleep issues, and one of my issues is that I often see a bright bright flash of light as I am going to sleep. I learned it's all part of "exploding head syndrome" (crazy name, but a somewhat common thing -- it often includes hearing loud bangs or other sounds... but can sometimes include visual issues like I described)

Has your partner ever sensed anything paranormal in this house before? How about you?

In the uk the "Landing" is the top of the stairs, which kinda makes sense with your "Flight of stairs" because its where you land

I have experience also with unexplained things,was years ago now and cleared once I left the house(not because of it) but in my opinion you need to rule out all rational explanations first, although you say you would have heard a car or seen its lights in your bedroom, there are now almost silent electric cars and if that was a neighbour the light might not reach your bedroom before the lights went out.

If this does not happen again probably nothing,If it does it may build ,Watch out for eggy smells , electrical equipment acting weirdly, My advice would be don't fear (easily said than done I know) and also call it out.

No need to convert to anything, I was just explaining the meaning of Landing. Is that really any reason to roll ones eyes?

A flight of stairs is a flight of stairs, a landing is in between, at the top or at the bottom of a flight of stairs.

First off, thank you for sharing your experience.

Your experience is very similar to my sisters experience about 3 years ago.
I will place the setting first, then describe the experience as described to me.

Takes place on a Acerage, about 30mins drive from the City. Here's info from Google Maps | Vanscoy No. 345, SK

It was before midnight for sure,and after 9pm.

At the time, it was my sister, her two kids and her dogs at home while this happened. Her children were in bed sleeping.

My sister at the time was texting back in forth with my other sister. Out of no where there was a light originating from outside of the house, and light up the entire room she was in. She described it as a beam of light, for visual purposes, think of a flashlight, only the beam of light actually pushes light in all directions of the beam, not just the direction of the unit itself.

The light stayed in the area for at least 5 minutes, but who knows, in the moment a minute can feel like 10. It wasn't just on then off. It went on, and stayed on for a significant amount of time.

So the light in itself is a strange occurrence, as I stated, my two sisters were texting back and forth that night. One of the texts that was delivered to my sisters' cell phone was not the text my other sister typed out and sent.

My sister on the acreage received a text full of random symbols/characters etc. She said she tried to translate, make sense of strange text. The only english word that came through was "Achak".

The text was received during, or shortly after the light event. I can't recall exactly.

The word "Achak" has significance for myself, and family. In the language 'Cree' the word 'Achak' translates in english to "Free Spirit"

One other paranormal event happened shorty after on the same acerage, as far as i'm aware these are the only two that took place whilst she lived in the home.

I tryed to give all the detail that was given to me. Now that I recall this memory, I want to go asking more questions to my sister to shed more light on the experience, for myself and others reading.

If you request, I will share the other experience on this acreage with you, though it doesn't have a beam of light, it was very strange and the two events may very well be connected.

No we have never sensed any presence's ect, I thought I would have as my nans and mums house are haunted so I thought they followed me or something but ive had nothing happen at my new house

Yeah it was defiantly not a car because our door window and door are not level with the stairs, but my Partner said it lit the whole landing up and where we live the roads gravel so we would have heard the tyres, with it being hot and the windows wide open.

I will look out for anything else, hopefully nothing else will happen.

Its weird because I was the sceptic one when normally he is so I went through all possibilities and nothing matched.

I wish I bloody see it lol

I forgot to mention that it was a blue-ish light.

Small Orb Light Flashes: There are indeed colors that do radiate outwards from a Spirit. Each Color represents the color of the Chakra, and each Chakra can emit a flash of color directly out of the very center of it's whirling vortex. It is a strong energy, and can display this quickly which is why it flashes. Now after typing that I do want to mention the following:When Father God smiles at someone, His Eyes actually radiate a quick bright blue colored pin-point of light you can see. He breaks through that Veil and we are for that fleeting moment able to visually see this bright blue dot flash of light and can feel the warmth of His smile which feels like we've been warmed with what I describe as a Hug Energy. We are not physically squeezed of course, but it feels like how we feel when we have been cuddled and lovingly hugged by someone whom we love and are loved by--that type of feeling.

That light to chakra post was interesting because though I haven't seen many apparitions, the most spectacular was a multicolored light pouring out of our kitchen in a haunted rental and when we ran in expecting to see a fire , we saw a human shaped pillar of light in the middle of the room... with rose, yellow, white and blue lights all moving (sorta clockwise I think) and entwining together, but staying mostly distinct and in the same basic regions of the "body."

The light guy slowly sank into the floor and disappeared, leaving all five of us stunned and silent in the sudden darkness... it was wild. I tried to rationalize it as 'ball lightening" but the weather was clear and the pillar was not spherical, except on top.

Hauntings exist... the recent slew of media interest in it stems, I think, from people being able to compare notes online anonymously... where before the internet, you risked being thought of as nuts if you talked about it.

I'm not sure the developing dogma about spirits is correct, but seemingly intelligent things without constant physical bodies certainly manifest here.... which goes against most common sense.

I would love to see something like that! Unfortunately, all I ever saw was black, scary ghosts, except the first one was kinda of whitish gray. I've seen white orbs floating through my house just recently too. Never seen any with colors though.
