Five-week vacation for Congress.
5 week vacation? Does congress actually WORK? They're like leaches, sucking the public dry, while doing absolutely ZERO WORK! It also seems like a convenient time for them to "vacate". The world's most deadliest virus has landed in America, and they're off for 5 weeks? Probably heading for the underground bunkers.

Ebola is hardly the worlds deadliest virus though. Bad news if you get it, but it's not very communicable.

More people have died of Flu in Africa during this outbreak than Ebola has killed.

Ebola

Ebola virus (EBOV) causes a severe hemorrhagic disease in humans and nonhuman primates, with mortality rates as high as 89%

Influenza

Number of deaths: 1,532 Deaths per 100,000 population: 0.5
I'd rather have the flu.

Howdy,

Yeah, ebola is less treatable. But I think, if you look, you will find that that data on influenza is for the US population. Certainly we have better health care than say... a country in Africa. Now, I'm sure you can agree that Painterz is not incorrect in saying that influenza is quite a serious illness in Africa. Your data indicates that it is treatable here, but it does not speak against his/her claim.

Yeah, I'd agree with you though, I'd rather catch the flu here in America than ebola here in America, but I certainly wouldn't want to catch either if I were (indigenous to/) living in Africa...

That said, I have no idea if the claim that more people have died from flu than ebola (in Africa) since this outbreak is true. What I can tell you is that what we might consider minor illnesses can and do still kill people in countries with poorer healthcare.

Of course, I don't think I need to tell you this, this is an argument in your favor. All I am trying to do is clarify that you're perhaps using data inconsistent with Painterz arguments.

Regards,
Hydeman

Hey, it is when they work that they spend money that we have to supply them with. Maybe we should give them 51 weeks of mandatory vacation and keep them drunk the week they work.

Yeah, some people around here are getting spoiled, they want government match on everything, even stuff that is not really necessary or wanted by the majority of the residents.

I, for one, want NOTHING the government has to offer. Not their money, their cheese nor their "vaccinations". I'd rather die!

I have to say that everything is soo deliberately been planned, is not doubt in my mind.

Now The vaccine research is on hold, perhaps because after the initial millions awarded is not enough infected people in the more affluent countries to recuperate the initial investment and make profits, or is a conflict of interest when it comes to the so call "magic serum" out there

I guess is not boundaries when it comes to corporate greed.

NONE! We're dealing with family fortunes. Inheritances that have been passed down for generations. They have to keep that flow going for generations to come.

I am so sick and tire of how our world has been revolved around profiteers of humanity is just despicable,

The Canadian base pharma been backed by Monsanto and The DOD, already have a vaccine due to be tested, but now is on hold.

Because is a serum ZMapp from a home base pharma in San Diego that supposedly made the US infected doctors better, but already the DOD with Monsanto has invested money on Tekmira, is stated with 1.5 millions now is a whooping 148 millions the vaccine TKM-Ebola is now on hold.

You are right, but the reason for that is that is been in isolated areas in what is call the bush in Africa, but what will happen if is introduced in heaving populated areas like Atlanta or any other bigger city in the US.

a reply to: marg6043I guess the DoD has to create a new ebola strain. Besides, "health care" isn't there to make us "healthy", but rather keep us sick and on their medications and prescribed DRUGS!!!
