So I found this and hope its not a double

Nasa's next Martian rover will attempt to make oxygen on the surface of the red planet when it lands there in 2021. The rover will carry seven scientific projects, aimed at paving the way for future manned missions, seeking evidence of life and storing samples to be brought back in the future.

Promising ?

"There are not very many places that humans can go after the Moon. I would say it's practically a list of one and Mars is it!"

It really looks to be the next step in space exploration, these thngs usually get shelved in favour of more pressing issues but they just seem to be putting alot of money into this.
enjoy

I'd rather see a moon on the base as a trial run.

Interesting concept. Astronauts and scientists mooning on the base.

I would love to see humans on mars, The whole space program needs to be re-thought and re-funded imo

I don't think it was ever lacking funds, just lacking funds in public programs.

"lagging a bit behind" being the operative words in this case.

I've got little belief that we're ever going to get a manned mission to Mars just like I dont believe we went to the moon.

The moon landings stopped about the same time as every-man was beginning to get HOME PC'S and started to learn about images being altered and tampered with, which is why I dont think we'll go back to the moon and or Mars or anywhere for that matter simply because we dont have a real understanding of how to keep ourselves safe in space - Could you imagine NASA or any space programe risking it, faking a mars landing and then every-man starts to pick away at the pictures.

Maybe when NASA and the like, have access to proper tech that would make it near impossible for us to check out the images, then we might see the landing but until then I dont believe it.

Much like the whole first contact is just around the corner deal, every few years when its time to re-budget we always hear scientists involved with searching for life say ITS JUST A FEW YEARS AGO - Or - WE'RE LOOKING AT CONTACT IN THE NEXT TWENTY YEARS.

If they're here (I really do believe they have been and still are) we are never gonna know about it.

Sorry but if you don't even believe men went to the moon then you have nothing to add to this thread so you may as well leave.

Men will land on the moon again. Men will land on Mars. And I guarantee that when they do, basement-dwellers will be posting "LOL FAKEZZ" on the internet.

Fortunately, science takes no notice of such people.

The last Moon landing was in 1973. Home computers did not become common until about 15 years later than that, in the late 1980s...and not ubiquitous in homes until the 1990s.

It would have been extremely rare to find people with home computers in the 1970's.

You're right Soylent. I too think we'll hey to Mars some day and I do still have fond memories of my first Tandy Computer. I thought I was so Hot and Modern playing Pong after school. Man, those were the days!
