Hi ATS!

This is my first thread so please bear with me

On Thursday July 24th Jessica Huston left her home in Dundee, OR. She was going out to run errands and left her husband and 2 children one of which is 6 and the other I am not sure of the age but is younger, at home. She stopped by an ATM and took out less than $60 cash, then went to a Rite Aid in Newberg (3 miles away) and bought a Gatorade some trail mix and a bottle of over the counter sleeping pills. Next she went to a Circle K gas station ( kitty corner to Rite Aid) and topped off her tank, she was driving a dark green 1999 Lexus SUV where she paid with her debit/credit card. She hasn't been seen since then. There has been no activity on any of her accounts and roughly 8 minutes after leaving the gas station her cell phone was shut off and is unable to be traced. The last communication shown on her phone was a common and mundane text from her mother.

My daughter has been in the same class with her older son since they were three years old, preschool for 2 years and kindergarten. My wife and I have spoken with Jessica on many occasions and found her to be a pleasant and caring individual. Jessica was active in her community and very active in the schools, she has on many occasions volunteered her time to read and talk with her sons ( and my daughters) kindergarten class.

This has turned into international news and locally we are baffled. Newberg and Dundee are only about 24 miles from Portland. I just want to get the word out because who knows what has happened to this person. Her husband passed a lie detector test with flying colors and this is currently being treated as a missing persons case. For some reason I feel foul play may be involved but so far the evidence is nil.

Sounds like she went somewhere to commit suicide. That's my first impression. Maybe she turned off her cellphone because she didn't want to be found as to not be resuscitated.

Just stating the worst case scenario. I hope she gets found soon.

If I was investigating this I'd be straight onto someone who said 'was'.

It's big news. Just searching Newberg Oregon brings it up as top result. "Officers said the amount of sleeping pills she purchased would not be enough for a lethal dose."

There's always hope.

Filled her gas tank, shut her phone off, and bought sleeping pills. As one poster stated, it does sound like she went to go commit suicide. I will not jump to any conclusions though. I hope they find her.

Good for sharing here, sending regards. Being shared around the Pacific NW.
Contact information for suspected whereabouts:

Huston was last seen driving a dark green 1999 Lexus SUV with Oregon License number WXH 011. She was wearing black yoga pants one the day she disappeared, along with a black zip-up sweatshirt and Nike tennis shoes that were black and pink. Anyone with information about her whereabouts was urged to call police at 503-538-8321.

If you were going to commit suicide why top-off your tank? Sounds like she was making a run for it to me.

My thought is that she topped the tank off, bought the pills, drove to a pre-determined spot, took her pills, hooked a hose up to her tail pipe and turned the car on once she was drowsy. Went to sleep and let the car fumes take over. She filled the tank to make sure it did not run out of gas before the deed was done. Took the sleeping pills so she wouldn't wake herself up and try to stop the suicide. Sounds like she had something like this planned and wanted to make sure she could not stop herself in the middle of it.

Buying the pills and topping off her fuel tank may not be as significant as we'd first suspect.

People use sleeping pills quite regularly in the States and many people like to keep their fuel tanks full so they don't drag the tank sediments through their engines, so nothing really out of the ordinary in those two things, especially as the quantity of pills she bought were not enough to kill herself if that was her intent.

Still, she had $60 in cash...so she may well have been smart enough to buy only a small amount of pills at serveral different stores, paying only in cash at the others...then she'd have her lethal OD amount of pills, but that's not in evidence so might not be so.

It could be anything from some whacko has snatched her, to a robbery gone from bad to worse, or suicide.

She might even have run off with a lover.

She may even have been a sleeper agent or something and has been activated.

There's no way of knowing what the hell happened to her unless someone sees her.

Sometimes people have just had enough of their day to day lives and make a break from it to start anew..maybe she is one of these?

Volunteers have been searching for her around our area, there is a lot of ground to cover and many valleys and forests. They are hoping to find the vehicle, its too bad it is a 1999 Lexus, if it was newer they could probably GPS locate it some way. More and more keeps coming from the Husband, I know he passed a lie detector test, but just today I learned that they had an argument before she left. I am wonder how he passed a lie detector test a few days ago... and yet now we learn that they had an argument the day of her disappearance? Surely they would ask something along those lines? Or maybe he is still a suspect and they want him to let his guard down. Our 6 year old has been watching the news with my wife and is quite sharp enough to understand that her friend Jack's mom is missing... she knows Jessica from the many time Jessica read to her Kindergarten class last year.. and its sad to see her cry about her friends mom being "lost". I hope she is found alive... she seemed like such a nice and caring person the times I have talked to her. When I get some more time I will try to dig up some of the statements her husband has made... day after day he says something that just doesn't seem to add up or feels wrong, but I am most likely just being a little too suspicious.

Just because he passed a lie dectector, doesn't mean he is not involved with her disappearance. In most cases like these, it someone close to the family. It is possible he might be involved.

I don't think she wanted to kill herself.

1.She topped the tank
2. bought sleeping pills (not enough to kill her)
3. Gatorade

Have you ever drank Gatorade?
I have.
It keeps you wake and fully energized like the Duracell bunny.

If she drank that, she'd have problems falling asleep even with pills.

Also why buy food (trailmix) if you're going to kill yourself. I read of people buying alcohol but not snack food.

My guess is, she was trying to get a way from it all for a little while.
That or foul play.

I hope they find her alive and well.

Gatorade is not a stimulant, I've drank gatorade and went to sleep before.

From livestrong.com.
"Energy Boost
Gatorade and other sports drinks contain a carbohydrate formula that can help provide athletes with extra energy. Carbohydrates are a dietary component whose main function is to give your body energy, especially for the nervous system and brain, notes Medline Plus."

Well lucky you then.
I know it doesn't have caffeine, but it has some other chemical and tons of sugar that give you energy.
When I drank one the first time,I felt like I had just drank 2 coffees in a go.
