I wasn't offended; my reply is dripping with sarcasm. The answers to all of your questions are out there, and they're not hard to find. You can learn all about Mesopotamian culture and religion by reading one little one book, from cover to cover. A number of such books are even part of the public domain now and can be read for free online.

Or, you can learn the intricacies of their history, culture, politics and faith by devoting time to more books, and visiting a few museums to connect with what you're reading about on more personal levels. A little elbow grease, some dedication, and you can easily decipher an Apkallu relief and its purpose.

The same goes for airplanes and earthquakes. Unless you want to believe giant catfish cause them by pounding their tails against the ocean floor until an old man drops rocks on their heads.
