Forget the Pope.
(And I'm pretty sure y'all know I didn't mean "forget")
Until this fruity hat wearing poof decides he's going to bring EVERY DAMNED LAST PEDO IN HIS VATICAN RANKS TO JUSTICE FOR THIER CRIMES instead of covering them up and moving them around to harm even more children, I find I refuse to take any plea he makes for peace or anything else seriously.
He's a monster for helping in the cover up and at the very least should jailed in a cell right beside all the other diddlers.
How you people lap up everything this creep says like it's strawberry sherbert just defies (and defiles) all logic.
I'm so disgusted by it I could just spit everytime I hear mention of his name.

Anyone claiming "peace", is simply making a talking point. Until our actions are finally speaking louder then our collective words, nothing is going to change.

I see a lot of people on here saying they wish people would just stop fighting. I also saw a post: "Nothing worth having is ever easy". And then of course a few eluding to the necessity of us, the people, stepping up and changing things.

The problem with all these talking points, is we must first remove all the babel. With a world full of different ideologies, everyone's "want" and "worth" varies from nation to nation, people to people, person to person. Wars exist because no one can agree. How do children act out when they don't get their way? They have a temper tantrum. War is nothing more then an adults version of a temper tantrum. In these thousands of years, we're still nothing more then a bunch of barbaric children.

Until we can put away our childishness, learn to respect and love one another, nothing is going to change. Period. Where do you put worth in your life? For some, it's religion, for some its science, for some its their children or their family. On the darker side, for some it's violence, money, power, control, prestige, lust... Every single person is motivated by a disparate set of ideals.

In a sense, utopia can be found when one has no causal expectation, no idealism to draw from. That being said, I can't imagine a life devoid of purpose or substance, even if that substance/purpose we accrue gives us merely an illusion of success, which is the case today.

In this world of inaction, I would rather someone tell me they love me than "Peace be with you".

If this Pope really seeks peace on Earth the solution to a large part of our problems is simple, open your coffers and end world debt. After all actions speak louder than words!

The Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization on the face of the earth the coffers are wide open and have been for 2000 years. The church could sell every treasure in the Vatican and it wouldn't put a dent in world debt.

Now make intelligent comments and don't just bash the Catholic Church because it makes you feel good.

Here we have a Pope that is saying "Stop...enough is enough", and even we, on ATS, continue to bicker on about whom is to blame and why we are in the trouble we are in.

Can't we put aside the petty BS and agree that enough is enough?

Pope Francis has not covered up anything and Cannon Law is being reviewed as we speak to make it easier to remove and prosecute abusive priest. The days of denial are over and this Pope is taking big steps to make effective changes.

You would do yourself good to listen to this man he is truly a holy and compassionate Pope.

The popes have talked a lot of peace, and the nations didn't listen to them. Most recently, the war in Yugoslavia proved how weak the voice of Peter could be, even among Catholic nations and their leaders.

I hope this pope will make a difference. Not only to talk but to do things differently. He should be supported in that.

A new start is needed for the world if we want to avoid nuclear and other kinds of small armageddons. (call it whatever). I hope that new stimulus of development and sideline conflicts will be found soon. In fact it is already found and posted online. Still it doesn't make CNN headline news. Perhaps the pope can help in that. Not only to say what we must not do (Do not kill!) but also to say what we may do in order to get out of hell on earth.

How can you make a statement such as the one above when you have no idea as to the true wealth that these people possess or have accumulated and stashed away over 1000s of years? Do have any idea as to what is contained in their secret archives or any of the other numerous locations, bank accounts or vaults spread throughout our world?

And it's not just the Roman Catholic Church i have an issue with, that would be organised religion in general. As to me bashing the Catholic Church because it makes me feel good? I'm not even going to entertain that notion considering i always feel good. I wholeheartedly agree that the problem with world poverty cannot be fixed so easily that being said i was referring to world debt.

If the Vatican where to eliminate that particular conundrum I imagine it would indeed be a massive contributing factor as to the eventual elimination of poverty worldwide. Never happen through considering money/debt is one of there main control constructs.

So the pope wants peace and it all to stop, yet is sitting on the worlds largest hoard of cash while lots of the world starves. Rather than invest it ways people can survive, food, infrastructure, water, etc etc, they hoard money, then ask for more and more every Sunday and pass around a plate that all the fools keep adding money into. All money given to the church is money that is gone from the global economy and it ain't coming back.

They teach their children not to judge others, then send then to abortion clinics to kick people while they are down, judging them. Meanwhile, mass graves of babies are starting to be found. Babies murdered because the mother wasn't married, or it was a native child. So I guess they don't want people to abort babies because an aborted baby can't be murdered or sacrificed to their catholic god? Is it so they can start molesting the babies / kids? I believe the Pope's statements were pretty all-encompassing. He is saying stop. All of you that are engaged in death and war.....stop.
