It seems that most of the time Neanderthals could not mate successfully with humans. Most of their offspring may have been sterile as they were different species. That is why the neanderthals died out, because they did not know that humans and neanderthals were not the same species. That's one theory anyway.

I hold to the theory that HSS brought diseases with him that the Neanderthals could not deal with. I also feel that we will find that HSN survived up until the early mesolithic (European) - but that is speculation on my part.

I find it confusing as well. Usually when different species breed together if it resuts in offspring that offspring is almost always sterile. How is that even possible?

Yes the extinction of neanderthals may have been due to more than one cause. As to the survival of the neanderthal, there is some interesting info available about the "almas" in Russia and Asia but they sound too primitive to be neanderthals.

Yes very ironic but it wouldn't surprise me if the early church suspected european man had mated with Neanderthals so stole black history (Aristotle was one of many that stated Egyptians were black) and made it our own.

Yes Homo sapiens evolved in Africa but that's a given from Darwin's Theory Of Evolution. And some africans show smaller amount of Neanderthal in their DNA but that may have been from Africans that migrated out of Africa then returned.

The only modern humans whose ancestors did not interbreed with Neanderthals are apparently sub-Saharan Africans, researchers say.

There is a theory that modern Homo Sapiens (as opposed to archaic Homo Sapiens) may have evolved elsewhere in isolation (some have even proposed America). Most homo species seem to have evolved in Africa but it is hard to believe that every single species evolved there. Neanderthals probably evolved in Europe for example. But yes it seems that modern humans did a back to Africa thing on several occasions in prehistoric and historical times. But unfortunately scientists do not know at this stage what the homo species was that Africans interbred with as fossil DNA is not preserved as well in a hotter Africa. But the evidence is there in the DNA of Africans.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the world population at the time of Mitochondrial Eve must have been pretty low (something under 1000 but cannot find source) so its possible that Africans survived an extinction event that wiped out worlds population and then repopulated the earth. So agree nothing proves Homo Sapiens originated in Africa but the "Out of Africa" theory remains the most accepted today.

How can I doubt some one with 33 million stars lol, but you can appreciate how confusing this it.

Just how many Homo species interbreed successfully, or is this unknown?

I happen to know that Harte made a deal with the devil to get most of those stars but we shall not speak of it here.....

At present there are two known Neanderthal, Denisovian, another unnamed and known to us only by the DNA in existing samples and Homo floresiensis, there are probably a lot more that we have not detected; our line of ascent being more a wildly growing bush than stately tree.

Impossible to say.

But, knowing human behavior, my guess would all of them that could.

...Even though interbreeding has been proven a scientific fact/// You have to ask yourself was it due to rape, pillage, and plunder...?

I don't have to ask myself any such thing. Females as well as males of the human species are known for being promiscuous - just like birds and most other animals. Humans also happen to be pretty horney. (Using the term "human" rather loosely here I know.) Also, many other animals mate across species.

This info came out a while ago and it's really not surprising. At least to educated people.

Hmmm. My comments not showing?

You left the slash off your close quote.

If you click on "edit," I think you can see it.

If it's too late, click "quote" and you'll see it.

Don't [/quote me on that.

Like someone else already posted, there MAY be no pure HSS specimens in this world, including native black Africans.

On a side not that I don't want to start a big debate over, racist views are held from individuals of all races against all other races, not just white people against black people. Even within black Africans there is (or, at least, was during the time when they sold their own race into slavery) are racist feelings amongst each other, with the darker-skinned people seeing themselves superior to lighter-skinned black Africans.

It's all ignorance and should be treated as such.

My experience with the Dutch is limited to the film "Goldmember," so maybe I'm mistaken.
