I remember one time at 3 am in a small town walking into a convience store and spending a long time trying to figure out what all the stuff on the shelves was. having my friends explain to me what money was and what the guy(cop) staring at me was and then as i was driving away i was seeing everything as a bevis and buthead video game and we had an ambulance chasing us through town. I was really at a point of not knowing. It was someting i took but that does not mean i'm not an alien either.

Just imagine for a moment. We humans ourselves have began identifying planets around star's 10's of 100's of light years away. So - if there is a race of beings intelligent enough - who is to say - we ourselves, planet Earth, are not being monitored by intelligent life elsewhere?

When did the UFO/Alien flap abrupt? Or rather, when did it become aggressive? When we started detonating nuclear weapons on this biosphere. In other words, when we began to develop the technology to get us off of this rock and into space. BAM! Here they are.

Quite understandably so. We still murder one another over differing beliefs and ideology. We create technology detrimental to the very bio-sphere that gives us life. What sane race in the Universe - would want us - humans - out there in their galactic neighborhood?

Best send their kind here, to monitor and manipulate and even in the end eradicate us - if it's deemed necessary for the protection of the rest of the Universe. I know if I was of a superior race of ET - looking in at humanity - I would.

Watch, wait, and weigh the worth of having us -humans - out there traveling the Universe. If they are among us - I think we are on much more dangerous ground - than we realize.

Perhaps Earth is the "trailer park" on the south side of our universe where the aliens come to get their meth. Or Loosh as it were....

Why would they come here?

Lets look at ourselves.
At this moment in time we have built and placed devices in space with no purpose other than to look for life on other planets.
In our very near future we'll be sending probes (lots of probes) into space to look at planets that we have labeled as interesting.
It wont be long before all the probes are totally computer driven and will have the ability to scan hundreds of planets each and every day!

Soon we'll have a catalog of millions of planets that might possibly have life on them.

An alien race thats a million years more advanced than us (easily possible they could be a billion years more advanced) would most certainly have a very full catalog, and they'd more than likely have conquered the distance problem.
For such an alien race we here on earth would be VERY interesting for the reasons mentioned above by
CirqueDeTruth. We are dangerous!

Something else people often dont seem to realize is that there could be many thousands or even millions of different races out there, and each of them would likely have spread out across the galaxy/universe.

I dont know whether op met some aliens i his shop, but I'm sure we're being monitored!

Finding our planet would be one of the ultimate needle in a haystack finds. We are minuscule blue orb orbiting an average star in a nondescript part of the galaxy.

All true, but we are looking in our neighborhood for other life. Would they not first study the stars nearer to them, so if life is abundant out there and any of the nearest stars has advanced life, they may well have found us without to much effort at all.

We are just starting to be able to see the neighbors with planets we have barely reached tech stage, look back to the horse and buggy...not far back!

The term, "life is abundant in the universe" is relative. Just because life proliferates throughout the universe is no reason to believe that it is easy to find. My entire point is that faster than light travel is a travel technology. Knowing where intelligent life resides in the universe or the variables to reliably find it is an information technology. You are making the assumption that because a race has reached a certain technological level in a certain field that they have reached a completely different technological level for a completely different technological field.

I'm just saying that there is no given that just because you can do X, that means you can now do Y as well.

I was at Portland State University a few years ago for an orientation. There was a guy speaking and by his side was what looked to me like an alien. She was tall very high cheek bones, long black hair. She kind of looked Asian, but her eyes were almond shaped and very large. When he was finished he asked if there was any questions. I wanted to say "Yes, where is that woman from?" I swear if there are alien hybrid's among us, she was one for sure!

The hybrids are indeed among us. The chain of events, beginning with the direct introduction of individuals to make them UFO believers and even promoters, myself being one such, has settled down to their offspring starting to mature and dabble in the daily activities of life that is bringing about the sought goal on a personal level. The philosophies of these common folks fits hand-in-glove with the world's movers and shakers that are in control of major shifts in the machinations of the globe. They advise and control the New World Order/Globalizations business now at hand.

The cannon fodder for this movement are not so bent on contacting ETs for their technological attributes as their forerunners. Contact is merely an ancillary aspect done via '___' if at all. These young people are the ones that are "touched" in many ways contrary to the old ways of doing things and the thinking that promoted such actions. This group of young folks are vegetarians, vegans, animal/human rights advocates, sexually ambivalent, anti-a lot of things: war, consumerism, capitalism, religion, etc.

The current word of choice used to describe them within the US is Progressives. To say that they are of the democratic party is not because they chose that party to embrace but because it best fits with their philosophy of everything! Actually, they may not be able to explain themselves if pressed by friend or parent, but they know what is deep inside of them, and they want massive, massive changes. Strangely, we are not dealing with wild radicals that want to totally destroy society via guns, bombs and spilled blood, but change it they do want and will insist upon having their way.

Most of you can't and even allow the thought that there is a connection between those things called UFOs and this new breed of human within your midst. But that is OK. That is entirely the way it was intended to happen, the best way.

I don't think we are in a place yet to say either way how nondescript we are. We don't KNOW we live in the boonies of the galaxy because we hardly know ANYTHING. Ya know...maybe we're really noisy or maybe maps of the galaxy are quite comprehensive. I'm just saying those are as much assumptions as any other.

I like that.

I've thought that before, like "what if that homeless man is actually the spirit of Jesus himself?" testing us....

How am I to know? And not just that, but all the different people that we come across on this walk of life.

Why would you assume that extraterrestrials wouldn't be interested in less developed civilizations? If you had the opportunity to go back in time 100,000 years to study the Neanderthal or the Denisovans, are you saying you wouldn't jump at the opportunity?

One question would be that since they had price tags on their 60s attire, how did they acquire the clothes? Are you suggesting that they traveled through different time periods before coming to your store?

Also, are you familiar with the story of the Moth Man? In the story there were two extraterrestrials dressed in black suits who visited the news paper publishing the Moth Man sitings. Apparently one of the MIBs spoke with a discernible but unfamiliar accent and took the secretary's pen, studied it intensely before laughing and walking away with it.

There's this big question about why they would consider us a threat. As is usually thought, its the atom bomb and the space technology advancing humans into space. I don't think we are a threat to anyone in the galactic neighborhood in the foreseeable future or even a significant threat to anyone cohabiting our star system. It would seem rather more likely that the human race falls back into the bronze age based on probable coming events.

But I could imagine extraterrestrials who may be working in our system installing devices that provide science data, in orbit around the Earth and even agents living within the populous on the ground for surveillance. Scientists, sociologists and paleontologists from other planets could observe first hand and document a wealth of information regarding a primitive technological civilization in its own environment, especially an endangered species like ours.

Coming from a place that has a quantum based technology and telepathic capabilities would certainly revolutionize scientific research, if they were able to blend and remain undetected. I'm sure that having such advantages, they would be extremely covert among us.

I doubt that any human being would ever know whether he was in the presence of such a person. I should think that from the perspective of the extraterrestrial scientist, it would be quite a unique and privileged experience that would have far reaching ramifications we cannot begin to understand.

There's allot of talk about human alien hybrids. The fact is that human beings "are" the hybrid offspring of many earth bound primates, whose genetic composition has combined to bring forth great benefits to us or have become inert in our genetic stream.

Their identity is indelible in our habits, thought constructions and primeval emotional responses and subconscious experiences. If there are indeed extraterrestrial beings who have externally integrated our genes with theirs, this may be very telling in a holistic eugenic propagation ideology. A people exploring the beneficent technocracy of galactic consciousness. Something similar to how the human race has achieved a sort of global consciousness through ancient strands of DNA.

Through this methodology, these particular extraterrestrial - human hybrids have advantages that either species alone would not have. It would also assure the most efficient propagation of the new species with a greater potential in the balance of intellect, emotion and evolution. It was through this methodology that man himself was likely evolved.

Hey, has anybody had the thought that these "strange" acting humanoids may actually be Earth people? People who were born here, abducted at a young age, and then returned many years later as part of an experiment to see how they would adapt to their "blood relatives" and the world they're indigenous to?

My thought is if this hypothetical hybrid program really exists (although I think it's the product of money making schemes) it's about everybody, not hybrids from elsewhere. What I'm saying is they're changing the genetic code of humans. They're not making a race of human-alien hybrids and then sending them here. Why? Because it doesn't make sense to me. It's too expensive to make a hybrid and grow it and then send it here, only to have it isolated by us. Much cheaper to just alter the genetic code of people and then watch as they have children and ensure the changes work. That's my opinion, if all this is true - which I really do not believe.

And you'd think the dna changes might be detectable now or soon by us. In fact, we may be able to see their fingerprints on it. How could they avoid that? Have to be very tricky, I imagine. I don't know a lot about genetics.

And why would they care in the first place? We're so miserable. They probably got better things to do. What do they gain from it.

Who knows. Maybe they're weary disenchanted aliens from afar who use their matter-manipulation technology to transform into a human being. Unthinkable to us and also dumb really because why would they be interested in visiting inferior species with all their problems? It'd be like humans dressing up as chimps and then living with other chimps.

It's science fiction. There's no proof for any of htis.

Ah, i see you've fallen victim to the fake Hippy pen pinchers.

That's these fiends M.O....dress in Hippy garb, act spaced out and weird, and pretend to want to buy a pack of greetings cards...do the puzzled look routine and leave, making a clean getaway with your counter pen.

Works every time.

As you discovered, the shop owner or assistant is confused by the weird behaviour and doesn't react when they leave with the pen...another bic for their ill gotten collection it seems...

Seriously though (OK...semi-seriously), IF these two were actually time travellers or indeed ET's incognito..taking the pens might be quite significant...our finger prints contain our DNA..a shop pen with be covered with many people's fingerprints..and DNA.

Now...what could a time traveller or disguised ET possibly want with lots of people's DNA...hmmm?

Maybe they were just trying to get out of paying. I mean hippies are not the richest people lol...

-SAP-

I don't think they were hippies even though the were dressed like that. They were well groomed and smelled like lavender soap not patchouli....

So you thought they were "hybrids"? They didn't seem to know what a ballpoint pen was..yet they could go to a store and know to buy lavender soap over patchouli?

Maybe they were just high and bought their new looking clothes at the local retro 2nd hand store as many "hippies" are known to do.

After reading some of the posts about so called hybrid aliens.. and the accounts of them not speaking...looking confused and what not... I wonder why a civilization so "advanced" would cross breed pure idiots or mildly retarded people to put on the earth to commingle with us "regular" people?

Does it make any sense that they would do this? Any at all? To not even know what a bic pen is?

I think not...... nice try though

Considering a bacteria right here on Earth has just been discovered that survives only on consuming electrons - electricity, it is entirely possible another species, with that kind of massive lead on us in terms of time they've been around, would probably have engineered themselves to be as energy, or gain energy for themselves or their craft, directly from electron sources.

Upon reading about this electricity eating bacteria, one of my first thoughts was to those NASA videos from space, showing what looks like large UFOs skirting and following large lightening storms in the upper atmosphere, and others claiming to show huge objects close to our Sun...if ET's, a couple of hundred thousand years more technologically advanced that us have taken a leaf out of our electric bacteria's book and adapted themselves to gain energy in a similar way, we might have a reason why they would follow the energy and massive electrical discharges.

The Universe might well be electric...and so might some of the species out there too!
