Does anyone have a problem meeting trustworthy people?

I don't know what it is about me but I have a hard time meeting people I can trust.

It seems like the general public at large are very ego centric and out for themselves.

Anybody?

If you have a reason not to trust someone, drop them like hot potato. Don't let an overbearing sense of distrust cut you out of relations with others. There are plenty of good people out there.

I wouldn't say there are no trustworthy people any more. They are still out there, but they are becoming harder and harder to find. Most likely because they are hiding out, unwilling to show it out of fear of being taken advantage of.

The world has become more and more selfish over the years. People who take advantage of others are successful and revered, while those that help others at their own expense are seen as weak. Using others as a stepping stone used to be a bad thing, now its all but encouraged.

The world has flipped upside down. What used to be considered strength is now weakness. What used to be considered courage, is now considered foolishness. What used to be considered independence, is now considered a mental illness.

Eventually the pendulum will swing back to the land of sanity, but sadly i doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

I trust my kids, mostly. So that's,, let's see, 3 people and my wife. so 4. I trust 4 people. the word "trust" is very nebulous to start with. it implies to have "faith in". So yeah. I trust my kids and my wife. trusting in anyone or anything else is just foolish. satan holds sway on the face of the Earth, but that's normal, he works for god! I don't trust them AT ALL !

Ditto.

Pretty important to know who falls into what category ... and more importantly _why_. It's all about managing your own personal expectations.

Not everyone beyond the wall we build is as we suppose but the higher the wall goes the more difficult it becomes to discern the difference.

I knew people who would steal from others, but they would not steal from their friends. They were good friends if they were your friends. The thing is even someone who steals from others doesn't always steal from you. if some of them respect you, they don't steal from you. Some people like to deceive others out of what they have also, they don't steal, they get off on tricking people out of what they have. Others try to sell you things you don't really need or steer you to buy a more expensive product which is no better. Just because it is considered a legal transaction does not mean it is honest. Our government allows deceit, as long as it follows the normal procedure. Let the buyer beware.

The people I thought I could trust the most ended up being the ones who firmly placed a knife in my back.

You will find someone you can trust, and when you do... Don't give that up

How do you define "trustworthy"? Is it someone who hasn't lied recently or someone completely and utterly devoted to honesty? There's a big difference.

I don't know what it is about me but I have a hard time meeting people I can trust.

In the most literal sense, you can't trust anyone. You can't even trust yourself. No matter how many times you question their motives and no matter how many times they reassure you they don't plan on lying to you, it's exactly the same train of thought someone self-interested and lying to you would say.

I often find it best to trust in percentages onequestion.
When you order fast food a percentage of trust is there as when you get your car fixed, to going to a doctor requiring more trust and having a spouse/companionship partner requiring more trust. To the trust in "THE" who guides your Soul/Spirit/Internal Energy thru EXISTENCE.

Once the percentages are acknowledged, it gets easier to deal with many in society as you can see their trust level with you immediately which in turn controls your patience or thought processes with them. Saving you lots of stress and potential harm.

NAMASTE*******

I think you're on to something....

You can trust people on the little things.

But big things like money, career, relationships, most people cannot be trusted.

I trust my kids and my husband, that's it.
Almost every person I've met and became friends with or just an acquaintance has burnt me one way or another.
I've given up trying to trust people anymore, and that's after a lot of effort on my part.
You tell one person something in confidence... then next thing you know, everyone knows your secret.
Or.. my favorite... People are nice to your face and you think they're nice only to turn around and hear about how they are saying something negative about you behind your back. Makes me sick really.
Sad to say the world just isn't what it use to be.
Gotta be on your guard. If someone acts interested in whats going on with ya chances are they're just nosy and want something juicy to talk about..
