The quick and dirty:
1. Wall Street is scared of a major cyber attack
2. Because of this fear SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Assoc.) is asking for a "government-industry cyber war council"
3. The council they want to put together will include representatives from Treasury Dept., NSA, and DHS, led by a senior White House official.
4. This group is led by and this committee is being facilitated by former NSA director Keith Alexander
Bloomberg article
Now, giving Wall Street their own "war council" after the 2008 debacle seems a bit strange. Especially given this is on the heels of last month's
revelations that the same Keith Alexander was telling Wall Street something bad might happen...
See
Greyhat's ATS thread a month ago of Keith Alexander warning Wall Street of a 9/11 in Cyberspace:
ATS Thread (June 20, 2014)
My biggest concern given that Keith Alexander is involved and that Wall Street wants a special council is that
these people are heading
directly toward planning a financial cyber event.
Color me nutty, but something smells rotten in Denmark.
