A government scientist cleaning out a storage room last week at a lab on the National Institutes of Health’s Bethesda campus found decades-old vials of smallpox, the second incident involving the mishandling of a highly dangerous pathogen by a federal health agency in a month.

After 9/11, the CDC tried to develop a nationwide program among all hospitals and health departments to enable a response to a terrorist inspired smallpox attack. Millions of dollars was expended on grants to hospitals for equipment and training for a proper response.

Guess what? The entire program fizzled out. Go figure.

You might be interested in this website; he claims he's prevented a slew of false flags and bioterrorism plans by publishing the info in advance:

bio-terrorism bible

Pay special attention to the long list of dead scientists involved with this sort of research work, and the map of U.S. CDC biocontainment labs, any one of which could be involved in an 'accident'. He also alleges that the Spanish Flu which killed millions was the result of bad vaccines, not a normal pandemic, since it seems to have started in military personnel right before they were shipped out to the front in Europe.

Do NOT allow vaccinations any time they ramp up the fear-mongering. Isolation and quarantine works every time, some 'godknowswhat' injected in your arm? Not so much.

Mark my words, if it comes to that point, there will be shootouts based on whether people get shots or not.

Nobody who is paying attention whatsoever trusts these corporations anymore, and someone's insistence on 'herd immunity' stops at my arm, thank you.

In this case it's going to be an oversight by someone who was working on a cure, and then got sidetracked. I don't know how they get rid of this stuff but it's a good thing no one has dropped a box while doing this work. It would be a bummer after years of attempts to eradicate to have it that very attempt kill millions.

I looked at the link about 19 mysterious outbreaks since 2008. While it says most are probably due to natural mutations there is a chance some aren't. However, I don't think our government is in on this. Anyone who released this stuff in their own region would get sick too. Terrorists would do it though. It's a very real fear that should include heavier checks and balances. Imagine a rogue person infiltrating Africa, getting a hold of the Ebola virus, and figuring out how to release it. I'm not sure how it hasn't happened already given it is likely easy, and it could take a nation to its knees. Just luck is my guess.

People forget things, important stuff gets forgotten or perhaps simply the "new guy" who replaced the old guy didnt get all the info he needed. It happens in any corporation or agency. Disturbing that this unfortunately also happens with very serious chemicals and biological nasty's.

At least they were identified and dealt with, makes you wonder about the times it happens and the public doesnt know, military is far from perfect either and i bet you that those mistakes never see the light of day.

I worked in research lab. General office life is that people come and go every few years. Before they leave, they are expected to clean up their desk, throw out old papers, put anything important "somewhere safe" and write it down somewhere or tell someone else just before they leave. But even with computer files (large data sets), we just ended up misplacing stuff. It would get copied onto our regular day use server, but then moved to an archive server, and somewhat forgotten about. It would become an office legend that we had acquired data set of something somewhere. It would then become a research project in itself to find that data.

This is what happened here. The samples sealed in glass tubes were put in a top shelf somewhere, and then papers files and other boxes are stacked on top of them. Then lost in time. Look at the number of times, we find rare video or photographs of a famous pop group in a small village library somewhere. Simply because during their travels between gigs, they happened to stop in that village, someone had a cine camera and made a movie.

As I understand it, given the levels of security and containment required for Smallpox samples, this stuff shouldn't have even been in that lab at all.... ever! As I also understand from another article, the lab is about 10 years old, and the safeguards for Smallpox and other equally nasty pathogens were in effect a lot longer than that.

Somebody was playing around with that stuff where they shouldn't have been. The potential for something bad to happen, without the necessary levels of security and containment are too nasty to think about.

The Spanish flu devastated the world in 1918. Right at the end of world war one.
The flu vaccine was not available until after 1933. It was given to soldiers at the onset of world war two. That guy should check a history book before he makes stupid claims.

How is this pharma's fault? We're talking about CDC and government facilities here.

My husband works at a level 2 bio facility that is corporate. If they had even a sniff of something this egregiously wrong, the government would shut them down so fast they'd be dizzy! But because this is a government facility just like the CDC where those workers were exposed to anthrax ... it's business as usual.

There are two sets of rules: one for business and one for government. And it's really not the business end you should be worried about, not until the government starts making deals with business to mass produce and fast produce something, like the last swine flu vaccine because that's when the corps are allowed to play openly fast and loose.

I'm not saying that corps are all clean, but when they play dirty, it has to be buried deep and kept on a tight leash. The government, by contrast, can just be openly incompetent and stupid and lazy and lax and no one cares until we all die.

Mostly ?

I can think of 10-50 million people who haven't been.

Mainly because they are here illegally.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this on the news yesterday is that, if there is a smallpox outbreak due to it being brought over the border by the massive influx of people, they can blame the outbreak on the 'long lost' cache of virus.

Do I care if it's politically correct? Nah. It's just a thought. I don't trust anything I hear on the news anymore.

I wish people who are very riled up about the border happenings would get equally as riled up about the illegal domestic spying and infringing on our civil liberties, PROOF of which is released every few weeks or so, by journalsits working from the leaked cache of top-secret documents.
Do you think the border "crisis" could be a way to take focus off what would otherwise be getting more of the national spotlight?

I'm not aware of smallpox vaccines being given as standard protocol. I believe they stopped this in 1972. Unless they have named it something different.

I saw a sign at Safeway the other day stating if you get your free shingles vaccine you get 10 (might have been 20% actually) off your entire purchase. Why would they want to bribe people to get a vaccine? It just seemed weird to me. I'll get a picture of it. Does anyone know why they would want us to have that so bad? I don't think its contagious, or at least not a pandemic concern.
