What's Scarier than a combat drone?

How about a combat drone that can divide itself into a number of smaller drones when it reaches it's target, and can heal it's own battle damage while in flight to continue its attack?

I think that sounds scary, and it's something that BAE is working on developing, heavily hinted at in the below article about building drones with a 3d printer.

While it's scary, it is also a pretty cool idea, various other concepts like dissolving circuit boards to protect technology are covered in what has been referred to as "the ultimate adaptable task force".

I was sitting on the edge of the flight deck of an aircraft carrier with my son in his pushchair and suddenly without warning a Harrier Jump Jet just rose up from lower than the deck it was so close to us I was absolutely aghast. I have never forgotten how terrifying those things could be so I am not surprised that 20 combat drones whether close up or not would have an even worse effect. That kind of fight power is terrifying.

sounds a bit like the nano-critter in the remake of 'the day the earth stood still' (or whatever that piece of crap remake with will smith was..)

A combat drone that is self aware and self replicating, now that would be truly scary.

The scariest notion is that for as long as humans continue to exist, we are going to continue to devise more and more advanced and horrifying ways of spying on, torturing, and murdering each other. For shame!

Anything that can drop a kilo of HE on my head from 5 miles away is plenty scary. 2 of them makes no difference really.

on topic...I imagine they have some pretty amazing drones by now and some in the research and dev phase that would amaze us. You dont have to worry about G force with no pilot sitting in there.
