Marc Rich - Oil for Food Scandal!

Not sure if this is 'World Events' because it involves the UN
or if it is 'Political Scandal' because it is part of Clinton's
Pardon-Gate. (which fellow Dem Jimmy Carter called 'disgusting')

I would think that anyone that had been pardoned and had
escaped major jail time would look at life differently and be
grateful that they have a second chance. BUT ... Marc Rich
MAY be involved with the Oil for Food scandal ... just months
after getting the pardon of his life. tsk tsk tsk

Ex-fugitive Marc Rich is suspected of having become one of Saddam Hussein's middlemen in Iraq's illegal oil trade just a month after he won a controversial pardon from former President Bill Clinton, a news report said.

ABC News reported last night that Rich's alleged role in the growing UN oil-for-food scandal is under investigation by federal officials.

Rich, who was pardoned by Clinton in January 2001, and several other prominent oil traders are suspected of making illegal kickbacks to Iraq to win the lucrative oil contracts, the network reported.

Coincedence. I doubt Clinton knew about Marc Rich's
(alleged) part in the Oil for Food scandal. I'm sure
Clinton was more interested in the big payoff check
from Marc Rich's 'ex'-wife that he received for the
Pardon. (and any sexual favors she gave him on the side).

IF it is true ... then Marc Rich is an idiot. He had just
gotten a HUGE pardon ... and he jumps right back into
illegal dealings. You would think he would be grateful
for a clean, second chance.
