Al-Qaeda has instructed their terrorist cells within the United States to start making wildfires

With the extreme drought in the Western half of the country this could destroy a very huge swath of forest land and developed land also.

Scary to think this could now happen.

So the twin towers topple, it was blamed on terrorists, crazy situations happen afterwards. Fake WMD, invasion of Afghanistan, tighter security at all borders, ports etc. Now if this actually happens, then what? Will a giant wall be built across the U.S Mexican border? Is this how they will get the public interest from all political views?

Wild fires are common in times of drought.

To believe that we are now more at risk from wild fires because of 'terrorists' is buying into fear mongering that the link the OP shared is apparently accomplishing.

I am a Florida 'native'. I made it through the public school program and managed to get in a few college classes. Looking back I can see how the public education system plays a role in the condition of the masses. So does our media, our TV shows, our movies, our music......

Please do not mind the vague generalizations, I am simply trying to 'brainstorm' but the US is becoming more polarized and there is a reason for it.

What I have noticed is there is an increasing divide between 'the smart kids', 'the athletes', and everyone else at the schools. There is also a divide between the 'rich kids with nice cars', 'the privileged enough', ' the poor who get free lunches at school whose parents cannot afford to buy them a car in high school.'

That divide is becoming bigger. Now in my old high school, the IB smart students rarely even pass the other students in the hallways. Regular students are not allowed to take IB/college prep classes if they choose to challenge themselves.

I had a teacher tell me I was not witty enough for college level US history when I was in 10th grade, when I signed up for the class and needed my economics teacher's approval before being enrolled. This was in the late 1990's....

I do feel like the public school system is playing a role in manufacturing a slave race, the is not aware enough to realize they are slaves.

It might be scary but it's unconvincing.

Terrorism is as more about spectacle than destruction. There is nothing every single terrorist in the world working together can do to bring down the US, but a handful of terrorists can make a spectacular attack which changes policy and recruits thousands, if not millions, to their cause.

The 9/11 attacks, the kidnapping of Aldo Moro, the Beslan school siege, the attempted assassination of Margaret Thatcher grab headlines. The perpetrators - and sometimes other groups jumping on the bandwagon - claim responsibility to capitalise on the brief, furious news coverage. They hit hard and fast.

Starting wildfires is destructive but doesn't have the impact of experienced terrorism, particularly if nobody claims responsibility.

The reality is the US faces a much greater threat from high school kids out for the summer with idle time on their hands that Al-CIAda making wildfires.

That would actually be a good terrorist plan if it's true.

Many people don't realize but 10-12 people spread out across the western states with $25 gear could do hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage and set the western half of the US in chaos.

The death toll wouldn't be very high but property damage and cost would be astronomical.

No way to guard 100's of millions of acres of forest and grasslands.
