Well derfreebie, you are probably aware that I am a proud Brit. But I believe that it is imperative to be realistic about ones nations history, because pride mixed with ignorance is a recipe for a horrid mess.

The justified response to the foolishness of the British monarchy during the period concerned, is by no means lost on me my friend! That is one of the reasons that I am so happy for all of the citizens of the United States, whether we are talking about those who were there for the bright promise of the period when independence was first announced, or now, even with all the madness that is going on in the government there.

It is a source of joy to me, that the USA continues to flourish, despite the foolishness of those who used to hold dominion over it, because it offers us all hope, that even through the worst possible scenario, something largely good can come out of it on a vast scale.

In any event, I have little patience for people who already have accounts and decide to make another name specifically to be annoying.

It's not Guinness actually, but a healthy portion of rum (about half a glass) and coke. Original, full fat, I can't afford a pension so to hell with it, coca cola.

It's either that or a good ale for me, but I was feeling a bit pirate on the day... I get that feeling a lot lol!

Thank you sir, this Yank has followed a lot of your posts and you seem to be on top of just is wrong with both our countries!
Also, when I was younger I had shoulder-length hair as well.. so the Brits and Yanks are a lot alike, we share a common language as well as similar music taste!

True Bud! Thanx Man! As per usual I am late with reply...... Did a bit of piss and moan, 4th in the morn, but TDawg came along promptly and gave me a push in the right direction.
Yes I do regret the bummer I laid down in that thread, but can't erase it now, so will live with it. I did have a great time on the 4th, so I guess I just had to vent some...... Later my over the pond Friend, and Thanx again!!! Syx.

Intuition...heh, that aside, glad I clicked. Good on you, TrueBrit. I sometimes feel there's a slight animosity between some American and UK members, I hate that. Being from the UK myself I've never looked at or thought of the American people as an enemy, I always thought we was mates!

Governments aside, we're on an equal par with regards to that. But we people are all cut from the same cloth and face a similar plight. We've got an advantage over the politicians in that we can maintain solidarity while they stab each other in the back. Division will conquer us.

Particularly enjoyed your eloquent response to that chap, overall a fun and enjoyable thread - cheers.

Thanks!! Just saw this thread (been busy) Yes, it can be pretty messed up here in the USA. I was in the air wing in the Navy and did what I was told (long story short) before that 26 years growing up in a Marine Corps family. Bottom line is the real americans watch each others back
