Would Jesus have hated on gays?

No matter who you think wrote the Bible, it has some real deep wisdom. I would say he would not approve of the gays. Marriage is the building block of society. Since gay couples cannot have kids, all their sex is out of wedlock. To be fair, Jesus also wouldn't like most of us either. Since most people aren't virgins when they get married.

Here's the wisdom I am talking about. In America a gay man had about a 1:13 chance of having AIDS. That's with knowledge and protection. Think how fast a desease like AIDS would have spread 2000 thousand years ago. A killer STD could have easily wiped out village in a short time. Personally that's where I think the no sex till marriage came from. Somehow the Bible was protecting us from getting out freak on.

You're thinking of Paul... and the word he used is fornication (pornea), which actually has to do with prostitution..

No sex before marriage had to do with controlling women's bodies and also as a safety net for women in a time when women had no rights and had to get all support from males. It was assumed that all children belonged to the husband and as such he would have been required to take care of them.

So if a man is in a relationship with a woman and then marries a second wife, obviously the no sex before marriage thing isn't applying to him but to the woman.

Also, historically it's a very recent development that men abstain from sex before marriage and applied to women only.

I have discovered at least one thing in my time on this Earth. That is, I am not all knowing. In fact, the great truth so far is that no matter how much I know in this Earthly forum, it will be such an infinitesimal fraction of true knowledge that I cannot even fathom the greatness of it.

I feel I would love to tell you what I have found, but I am aiming to respect OP and the thread's subject as what I have found is in another spiritual arena

I am very ignorant about the Bible, so i don't want to speak about things i don't know, or may get wrong.

one thing though is maybe thinking of it as "Human Rights" versus "Gay" or "Straight" Rights, we are as Human(or Alien DNA ) as a Heterosexual

Gays or lesbians? Hell no. Transgenders on the other hand.. That's a possibility.

The name of Jesus and the word 'hate' doesn't belong in the same sentence.

Jesus said to love everyone, not just your friends and family, but also your enemies (Matthew 5:44). Jesus said to NOT resist evil, but if you are slapped on one cheek then turn to the other (Matthew 5:39).

Jesus taught unconditional love, because Jesus said to love your enemies and to not resist evil but instead to forgive. When people do this, life becomes more peaceful. Revenge brings a lot of violence and stress in life.

During his first coming he would have forgiven gays and told them to sin no more. This doesn't mean he would condone it - it means as long as they don't do it again, and follow his commandments, they would be saved. This is exactly what he told anyone else he met who sinned but still sought salvation. (John 5:14, Hebrews 8:12) He would forgive them and tell them to sin no more.

Homosexuality is a sin (Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Corinthians 6:9-11, Genesis 19:1-11) Here is a good reference to most of them:

During his second coming he will destroy all life on earth, including anyone who do not cease from their sin and seek repentance. This is in the book of Revelation Chapter 19 verse 21. "And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sitteth upon the horse, which cometh out of his mouth, and all the fowls were filled full with their flesh." This is in reference to Christ, who will be able to kill with a word - hence the reference to his tongue being a sword. The "remnant" are all the last living human beings at that time.

After he destroys the world, he will remake it and resurrect all of his faithful. Revelation 20:12-15 talks about the judgment, Revelation chapter 21 talks about the coming of New Jerusalem.

I just wanted to post to let everyone know that I am still reading and am very appreciative of all input into the thread.

It has been a positive, uplifting thread and it has helped me in defining my sentiments on the topic.

It's only from having bought that lie that one asks would Jesus "hate on guys". If the above is true, every last person who rejects and shuns pedophilia and pederasty should immediately be labeled a "hater" for example.

a reply to: beezzer Thought this was pretty neat and says a lot. Most people don't take the beam out of their own eye. Remember let ye who is without sin, cast the first stone. Makes you wonder. Jesus would love them as his own Beezer. Just my thoughts.
