Nothing really.
Same old stuff, day in and day out.
Just a matter of how you perceive it is all.

Take me for example, been a crappy few months, but a few ice cream sandwiches later, life is beautiful.
LOL!
I awoke to the truth, let's say, awhile ago. Left the dark and my journey into the light has been nothing but beautiful.
Having those around you trying to keep you in the dark is the true battle.
Staying the course and riding out those rogue and rough seas is a test to see if you are willing to be true to yourself and stay the course.
The path towards happiness.
Just been reading some stuff from Hunter S Thompson and it kind of rang true to me.
I had settled and went with the tide, but now, I am fighting against that to seek my own destiny.

“To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles…”

Yeah, ok that was Shakespeare, but Thompson's response is what got me....

And indeed, that IS the question: whether to float with the tide, or to swim for a goal. It is a choice we must all make consciously or unconsciously at one time in our lives. So few people understand this! Think of any decision you’ve ever made which had a bearing on your future: I may be wrong, but I don’t see how it could have been anything but a choice however indirect — between the two things I’ve mentioned: the floating or the swimming.

What I am trying to get at, you can't change people and people can not choose your destiny. You can decide your future, not to be influenced by others to make them happy. Choose what makes you happy. The rest will fall together.

There are a lot of food choices that can make it bearable. Whether you call them comfort foods or dope, it doesn't really matter. They help us deal with everyday chaos in the mess we have created. The government is good at pushing this mellowing chemistry.

There is no use getting upset about what you cannot change, concentrate on how to simplify your life instead.

I like this quote from Springers tag line;

"Life isn't about how to survive the storm but about how to dance in the rain".

On the other hand, seeing new threads pop up that have the same info as a thread on the front page is still very tiring.

Kind Regards

Simplify is the answer I have found. And to just let it go.

I couldn't agree more. My suggestion would be to search and seek out what you are looking for. And you can always ignore the repetition . That is how the brainwashing happens. LOL!

I concur. My 3 yr old has just started liking bacon. This has made my husband tremendously happy as he has an excuse to make bacon butties in the morning. So I can only imagine how happy the world would be with increased bacon.

Sounds like you have it figured out, and you sound determined so good for you:-).

What's wrong with the world is that people are control freaks and/or project things onto others to ward off uncomfortable feelings within. It's annoying but those are the two main ones that come to my mind. I'm not saying every person of course but those who are take up twice the amount of space as anyone else, and need to tone it down. It makes me mad too. And it drains energy. I think this is what was meant by "vampire".

Some ideas to keep energy from being depleted:

Positive self talk is critical. It's like mediation though. People give up because they get frustrated that they can't still their minds. However, the whole point of meditation is to continue to reign your mind in as it wonders. That is where the majority of the benefit lies. Exercise for thoughts? Yep.

So the other exercise for thoughts is to replace negative ones with positive ones. Don't give up if you rant inside your head (or outloud). Simply let the negative thought pass without judgement and replace it with a positive one. If you end up judging your screw up (we all do right?), just let that go too, and continue to replace the thought with something that is actually helpful to your mood. Initially it feels superficial but overtime it becomes automatic to see things in an optimistic way.

Having said all of that - I need to do it myself and stick to it.

Some other ways I shake off bad energy (some only when I have a twinge of it left):

Hang out with my kids
Laugh
Take a walk on a nice day (really rejuvenating)
Talking to another who will provide a different perspective
Make a special dinner that I put lots of love and time into and then actually sit at a table to enjoy it
Go shopping for 1 thing that's organic and good for me
Try to garden
Do the dishes
Take a drive
Get onto ATS and philosophize

You got it !

I personal enjoy being outside and being alone in the woods. The silence brings my spirit back. Next is music. It reaches the soul in so many ways. Third, I learn to find my spiritual side, no religion or nothing like that, my spirit. Forth is knowledge and wisdom. The fifth is love.

At some point, we use to be in harmony with the world, our mother Earth. So can reconnect with that.

You can ignore reality, but you can not ignore the consequences of ignoring reality...Ayn Rand.

Think about what she said before you kill the messenger because you don't like her politics, left or right or nothing at all you can not ignore reality if you really want to know the truth about humans and the world we live in...that is if you can stand it.

Nothing political in my statements. It's all about life in general and observation. Stepping outside then looking back in. Then you see what is going on, the rat race, the games, the pulling and the pushing. The nonsense. It's useless nonsense.
We are trained from birth to get a job to get married and have a family , just like our parents. Who are we working for, what are we working for? Who freaking wins in all this?
Not me, finding my way out of the maze and deception, living in a tent in the woods looks pretty good. BTW, I have done that, been there.

Once you are old enough to stop thinking of yourself long enough you realize as a species we have no humanity, we are predators, these things you complain about will fade away.

If all you ever do is stop and think that we kill each other over greed, power and control while every 5 seconds a child dies from starvation (yah I know, its an ad but I looked it up and its basically true) it should bring pause to all the things you hate so much about your life.

Just my opinion.

All animals that are eyes forward are predators, and thats why most animals with the eyes on the side run from us first before anything else. They recognise us as predators.

BTW your opinion is spot on.

It has always amazed me that we fight over money, and small amounts of it, like minimum wage being raised to 10 or 15 bucks an hour. While a guy in a hut on the plains of Africa starving and hunting his next meal thinks you would be rich and willing to trade places in a second. Everyday I think how lucky I was to be born to a middle class family in the US. As a kid my biggest worry was getting in on time at night. Never a meal or a drink of water.
