Wasn't sure where to put this, but now that I have gotten over the weird issues creating an account here goes.

About 6 months ago my daughter and I saw something fly over in SW Wisconsin from north to south. It was not commercial as it was way too fast and didn't show up on any of the flight tracking sites. It was a light similar to a satellite but was slower and not the same as other sats I have seen. Plus the north to south path seemed not right for a sat. We have no idea how high it was in the darkness and we couldn't hear it which isn't surprising. I also don't know why it would be lit up if it wasn't a sat. We spotted it as it was going overhead and traversed out of sight to the south in 8-9 seconds.

What color light was it?

It was the same color as the LED running lights on newer cars. Mostly white with a tint of blue.

It didn't change direction did it? Just curious. I'm in Wisconsin and have seen a bright yellow light zig-zagging like nothing I've seen before (manned plane pulling some serious Gs).

About 6 months ago a meteorite flew N to S along the Minnesota/Wisconsin border, but that was an obvious green flash. I'm wondering if you saw the international space station?

I've conveyed the story a few times on here before, but I remember about 15 years ago looking up at the night sky and seeing something quite odd. I thought I saw a satellite going South to North. As I watched it, suddenly it did a perfect 90 degree turn on a dime. It didn't slow down or miss a beat. Anything at that altitude doing a turn like that, going at those speeds is beyond anything I know of. I asked Jim Oberg about it in his AMA thread, and he told me whatever it was, wasn't a satellite.

Personally, I think it was some kind of unmanned platform.

You may have been lucky. If it's what I saw I'm not sure I'd use the word "air" in that sentence.

I think its safe to say it was ours(US). makes you wonder how many UFO's were just some guys(pilot) showing off

No, it didn't change direction and the direction we were watching it would have been east of us. Could have been over Milwaukee for all I know.

It wasn't as bright as the space station and it wasn't one of the sats listed on Heavens Above. Could have been a different one, it just didn't look like or travel the same speed as others I have seen.

It probably was one of "ours" but the technology needed for it to pull a perfect 90 degree turn going that fast...It looked like something out of Tron. Whatever it was, it wasn't anything close to what we have in the inventory that's public. This was 15 years ago, and nothing since then is still even remotely close. I'm hedging my bets on some kind of BBT-type technology.

it might have looked like a perfect 90 degree turn but who knows how far away it was or what angle it was really traveling on, it was a very sharp turn but due to it being far away from you the very sharp turned in to a 90 degree one.

but I agree with you what ever it or they are sure as heck isn't any normal jet or space plane

To be fair I've seen the little blue star back in the early 2000's do the 90 degree turn too. It's interesting whatever it is. Saw it on more than one occasion so it's not a trick of the light. Thing is I saw it do this over Los Angeles at night and we don't get many stars due to light pollution. So whatever it is/was is really bright even though you can barely make it out and it's gotta be in low orbit or something for me to have seen it.

None of those looked like what I had seen. A few of those videos have been determined to be meteors. The cop car dash cam one is interesting because it does that flash and then accelerates away seemingly. Some of them could be the green lady, but if they are she wasn't doing what I saw her doing that one evening. Although i was at first fooled by one of those videos posted when I first briefly glanced at it and made a over enthusiastic comment.

Think more of a flare gun. Or like a lone ember from a fire work. Where the tip is white and then there is a color trail behind it.

Except make this trail strait as a line and laser like. not clumpy or intermittent. Like a long green streak or line that trails back a second or so behind it before fading out. Not a tapering tail either where it's thicker on one end. just straight and even minus the dull yellowish source that burns brighter and actually is larger in gauge then the trail it's self. thats what I saw.

Could look different to other people depending on what it was doing when they saw it. But I would say the above videos are not the same to what I saw.

I probably should just make a color drawing of it and upload one day. Would make more sense then my babbling responses in attempt to describe it.

That is exactly how I would describe what I also saw In California (early October 2013). We were very close to China Lake...Kern County, CA. It was night time and we were leaving Red Rocks State Park...I was doing a bit of astrophotography of the Milky Way. Sure is dark there!

I think about that night from time to time. It was a very brief, but beautiful sight. Have no idea what that green laser like contrail came out of though...but it was going very, very fast!

The trail was prolly bromine particles from the engines exaust.

Bromine Lead?

The green lady has engine knocking problem?

Better switch to unleaded.

Whatever it was stayed ionized and glowing for a few seconds as it trailed aft behind the craft. Could be some sort of Boron type of lead particles. Boron, Bromine either way it sounds like the green lady isn't so green for the environment.

More interesting to me than the chemical composition and the apparent ionization was how perfectly smooth and linear the exhaust was. Almost as if it had something to help smooth the exhaust flow and get rid of turbulence so the exhaust stream stayed nice and straight.

Just retard the timing back 5 degrees, that'll sort the knocking out LOL

Similar to what i saw over Southern England a few years ago, but i saw what i thought were two satellites, (looked very typical of satellites at night)...but the thing that really caught my eye and caused me track the two objects was that both were heading in opposite directions, but headed straight for one another...and i don't mean a few degrees off, i mean straight for each other.

They didn't do a 90 degree turn like yours did, but it was equally puzzling...the stopped dead in space for around 0.5 - 1.0 seconds (as quick as that) and then did the strangest thing...they pirouetted around each other in a perfectly coordinated movement, making perfectly matched and very smooth circles, BIG circles...each ended up where they would have been if it hadn't encountered their 'dance partner', and carried on their original course and heading.

Weirdest thing i've seen in years.

Yes, yes but if you go the other way and advance the timing will the green lady get even more power and go faster? That could be her secret...

Yes indeedy, and the faster he goes it won't matter about the knocking, cos he wont hear it anyway !!
Until the inevitable happens and he puts a hole in something, then its back to me to fix it. And his green flame is no more, just a dirty shade of grey. ( just the one shade mind, not 50 !! )

Oh, by the way, it seems my daughter has seen the green thingy. ( how bloody typical is that ). She got up very early one morning as she couldnt sleep, and was stargazing. The thing flew right overhead and I missed it. She never goes on this site at all, but described it perfectly

It's the aerial version of Morris dancing. We don't have hankies and bells on, though.
