I dont know about rock formations, but my guess is it was exposed to high heat.

Before you break it open google around to have someone examine it. If it has value, don't waste it

Looks like a sketching of beezzer on the rock in the first picture

I haven't a clue, it's shiny, almost like it has been polished.

Maybe you should measure and weigh it daily, so if it starts to grow you'll know it.

Seriously though, I'm following this to see if you find out what it really is.

I don't know what it is, but if you take a few measurements like mass or volume and figure out density and stuff, you can probably rule out some possibilities and focus on others. For instance, you might discover that it is too light to be a meteorite, or too heavy to be a bezoar, or whatever.

If a local geologist (which seems the best idea so far) can't tell you, there's really only one thing left to do. Set it ablaze in a Dothraki funeral pyre. But make sure there is an evil maegi tied to it. You'll know soon enough.

Cool find!

Well, it's certainly interesting! Any sort of science facility in your area, where you could take it and maybe have it opened up? Could be something ordinary, but could be really cool as well.

Something inside.......it's sort of egg-shaped......hmmmmmmm.......

Alright, you simply have to get it opened. Supervised, though; we don't want the blob to eat you, after all!!! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

There was a "public art" movement several years ago, maybe 10-12 years ago that involved a lot of ceramics students and instructors. I saw a lot of shows locally put on by these folks which featured pieces that look a lot like the piece you have there. Does it have any marking at all that could be maker's marks?
I have several pieces scattered about my yard and home that were gifted to me by artists who participated in getting their art, organic forms modeled in clay and fired, out in the public eye. I can't recall the exact name of the movement, something along the lines of "Organic Abstractism", I believe. What you have found might just be one of those pieces. I know that several of the local students put their pieces along bodies of water or hung them from trees along the water. If there is a any sort of art school in your area you might check with them to see if they think it is ceramic.

Does the rock feel greasy or waxy to the touch?

No it doesn't. It feels like it has a glassy type surface. Somewhat like a shellac.
It's an old cream colour glass bottle/container that has been partially melted (probably in someone's camp fire).

Seeing as it is hollow, I would presume that it is man made. Most rocks are solid. But you never know? Maybe it is some sort of tribal instrument. Does it make sound when you shake it? Or it could have been a baby rattle. Just some ideas to add to the pot. I hope you get it analysed and that you find out what it is.

If you find a stuffed bunny rabbit inside... send me a message

Interesting find. Plz do share with us anything you find out about it. & don't go MIA on us. Then we might think the MIB confiscated you and the object. We might have to send out a hunt party.

Ok I will stop being goofy now.

I love seeing and hearing about finds such as yours, so please keep the info coming if you find out what you have there.

That is a chunk of ore that has gotten tumbled by the river. Ore often is very "rotten" with rust due to the high iron content of mineralized stone aka ore. The rattling is merely the loose rusty parts in the middle. Could be a gold nugget in there though.
