If I was your next-of-kin, I would bury you in a deluxe coffin and have a funeral mass featuring Mozart's Requium, presided by as many clergy as possible.

Because Ive always wanted a pet ghost.

A dumpster burial would be nice and undignified.

ashes scattered into a food court, so people will still eat me, because anyone ignorant enough to eat food court food, will eat anything.

Put me on a pile of sticks and light 'em up! Dance around my burning corpse, celebrating my graduation from this realm and my entry into the next, what'ere it may be.
if this is not an option, i wlll wander off into the woods, ne'r to be heard from again.

“LIfe’s Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely,
in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting “Holy #, what a ride!”
– Hunter S Thompson

I saw someone here on ATS has that in their signature too!
I love anything unconventional,
where people aren't afraid to defy the usual custom!

When our neighbor, who didn't like anything formal, died way too young,
his pall bearers wore blue jeans & white t-shirts!!!
When they came into the church, walking beside the casket,
no one in the church could keep from laughing...priceless!!!

My parents both died unexpectedly, of natural causes,
two & a half days apart.
When they were laid out, Dad had this big grin on his face!
The only dead person that I ever saw smiling!
Everyone said it was because Mom wouldn't leave without Dad!

However I go, I want it to be unusual & memorable!!!
Preferably, with people smiling & saying "She would!!!"

" Remember, friend, as you pass by, as you are now, so once was I,

So lain to rest, as I must be, prepare yourself to follow me "

( Inscription on a gravestone, in a church cemetery, Ripley, North Yorkshire, U.K. )

How apt !

Don't want one. I really don't care what happens to my body as long it doesn't cost the people I care about a dime. I'm dead, take the money and that would go to wards that and buy yourself something you always wanted.

Cremated and dispersed into the ocean off a cliff in North Cape, Norway or Cape Horn, Chile or perhaps, at the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.
& I want others to say, "He was right the all along" and I want to be remembered only as "The one who knew".

Let the lives of others go on. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time.

I want to be cremated and have no funeral. So I won't have a funeral to be 'remembered at'. I told my husband and daughter that if they don't follow my wishes, then I'll come back and haunt them .. and they won't like it.

We already bought our burial plot (double depth) and one creamation urn because I can't make up my mind as to what I want done with my remains, nor can I decide which song I want played at my funeral...and so it goes year in and year out...no decisions as of yet.

What I do know is that even though I love flowers, I would prefer the money that would have been spent on flowers to be donated to charities that benefit children and all types animals and/or their all-important habitats.

If one believes in an afterlife, then the tears of the living are nothing more or less than self-pity.
I have given my all to those I care about, and when I die they may choose to absorb my energy, or block it by thinking death is the end of being.

I am expecting one hell of a party in my honor, and I plan on attending- I will be the guest of honor, after all!

Id make a terrible pet ghost .. youd have no beer left in the house .. gotta have good cigars .. guests would flee in terror their hair turned instantly white from fright .. you could forget sleeping .. and that would just be the warm-up .. mwahahaha ...

As it is am gonna have nightmares for at least month at the thought of that funeral .. *note to self move further out in boonies before die to avoid funeral* hehe

Depends on what age i die...

too young... probably a bit sad, and cant be helped.

but if i live up to like 70+, i want my fineral to be celebrated not mourned(immediate family can be exempted.)...

Also, cremation, in my opinion, leaving a body to rot seems cruel as humans, burning it in fire seems like a cleanse.

My parting sentiments would be along these lines.

There has been alot of death of my family and close friends lately and they were all cremated. Thats what they wanted i guess but i have sort of a hole in me when i think about them. I like to go somewhere and show my respects and talk privately to them when they are on my mind. Personally i dont want to be a burden to anyone but its up to the ones who handle my remains to make that decision as ill really have no say so.
