Obama: "Weapons of war have no place on our streets".

Weapons of war.....meaning automatic rifles? That's what they use, automatics. Regular civilians can't just purchase a fully automatic anything at a gun store, they would require a class 3 FFL (Federal Firearms License).

Basically the only people who have fully automatic weapons are criminals or people with proper licensing, which is expensive, not inducing the actual automatic weapon.

I don't think many people realize just how expensive automatic rifles are. A full auto M4 or MP5 will run you tens of thousands of dollars....no average joe will be able to buy one anyway.

Of course not. The U.S. government designed it like this. That's what this post is about, are they supposed to be protecting us from criminals? With their ever expanding list of what defines a criminal, I bet there's a handful of us in here who's (unknowingly) broken laws and could be defined as a criminal, or a terrorist by the U.S. government.

They know that more people are getting fed up with their B.S. and at some point won't tolerate it anymore. So they're gearing up local police forces to be able to quell the inevitable violence. Once they're sufficiently trained and equipped, we will see a major disaster causing the President to declare martial law and most of us will be powerless to be free anymore.

A free nation aught to have the means to defend themselves against tyranny. It's our right to have and bear arms, it's our responsibility and we shouldn't need "big brother" watching over us, telling us what we can and can't do 'because they know best'.

A government with the power to give us everything has the power to take it away, and that day is coming.

People have been divided among themselves and distracted for so long this has been creeping on us at least since 9/11.

Never forget 9/11 but also don't ever forget the Ohio state massacre when the National Guard (now part of the armed forces) shot & killed UNARMED students. That's not a conspiracy our government has murdered it's own civilians, it's a fact.

I agree. The folks pulling 0bama's strings may have thought about going for the guns. The folks calling the shots from the other side 'appeared' to be gearing gun owners up for insurrection. Now, that's just my personal POV, but I'm no dummy either. Both sides want the guns. They just want them taken away on their terms.

The other 'big one' is the little guy's retirement. I think a concession was made there, and that concession was called 0bamacare. 0bamacare is not generating the money needed by the Dems. Nothing personal against the Dems, it's just that they're the controlling administration ATM. I'd rather have the Dems steal my money than Paul Ryan. It just looks like the Dems are reneging on a back-room deal you or I will never know anything about.

That thing pitting the IRS against the Tea Party ... clever. Slowing a gun-grab down by promoting 'Constitutional' Sheriffs ... absolute genius. Let's wait and see if 0bama gets impeached in the next month or so. The guys who bedded down with OPEC decades ago don't want to go into the night quietly.

I starred you because you made some good points, but your mistaken on many parts about automatics.

They are all but useless vs semi auto in every situation but suppressing fire.

We dont need suppressing fire, because of the sheer number of us vs. them means we will always have what the Marine corp first termed "fire superiority, meaning we are throwing more lead at them than they can throw back at us.

Meaning, they have to keep their heads down or they lose folks they cannot replace. Giving us complete superiority.

I dont know a single soldier I served with that can accurately shoot an automatic at range, I have never seen it done even at close range.

I qualified expert every time in my 6 years, I got to shoot full auto a few times at less than 20 meters, lol out of 30 rounds, about 6 hit the man target. At 30 meters, I would likely get the first 2 or maybe even 3 but no more.

Automatic is nothing but a bullet waster in most situations.

The military fights and bullies outward from our nation by it's very nature.......so what will an internal force inside our country, focused on civilians do? You are right,the only auto I could handle was the BAR in prone position,everything else was just a waste of money and ammo.

Isn't that what the National Guard once was,before a certian president made them a part of the Armed forces? I seem to remember that they were refered to as citizen soldiers. Now they are used as if they are regular army.

Nail on the head. Well when they started calling it the National Guard. Constitutionally its a state guard and its justification falls under the 2nd amendment along with the peoples right to keep and bear. State guards started to get pulled into the federal mix during the civil war but there really is no constitutional position for the federal government to regulate state militias.
