For the Fallen [June 2014]

For a’ the screams I hear at night
Through curtains softly closed,
For a’ that bullets wracked these bones
As we stood at lines opposed

For a’ the men who lay in bits
Strewn on roads and dirt,
For a’ those boys sent forth to die
Sent home with untold hurt

For a’ the reasons war won’t work
And for all the lies we’re sold
“ Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori”
But if you’ll no’ back me in this war, feel free to stand afore me.

Thank you for dropping by and for your kind words! I'm doing well thanks, and always glad to see you. This seemed like an important writing competition, I felt like I wanted to say thank you to those who risk their lives. Even though I cannot condone war, I can't say I'm not grateful.
