aye but this is all new. new open borders to certain areas of the world that are predominantly muslim. and it isn't just happening in britain, but also in the rest of europe. and the laws were deliberately showing favor to muslims and punishing the citizens. this is not because the european leaders specifically want muslims to be their slaves. it's because they want to fulfill their part of the agenda 21 plan and do so by eradicating alot of christians, muslims and jews, all of whom heavily populate europe today. yep. really mean govs, mean and devious.

i consider islam to be a branch of the roman catholic church (of course the popes think all religions are branches of the rcc). so what you have in europe is not a stealth take over by islam, it's a stealth take over by the rcc using islam as its soldiers and then calling for people to fight to death for their homelands. palestine all over europe. that's just mean. mean mean mean..

I still don't see how this is the Muslims fault since they don't write the rules, just like any group they can complain to the law and if the law sees fit to give a year in punishment then I don't see the this as a Muslim issue.

I was just looking for more background on the sentencing and the convicted and it's beginning to appear rather a heavy sentence for the pair. In particular the female seems to have associated with the SDL and detached from them before the trial and the male was willing to plead guilty from last year and was hedging on the 'racially aggravated' part.

Instead of me thinking that it was a justified sentence, I'll retract any opinion at all and leave it on your earlier point that we don't have enough information to form an opinion either way.

hmmm if I was a magistrate I would see there disassociation with the SDL as a ploy to downplay there history and get a better sentence.

Here in Istanbul , Synagogues , Churchs and Mosques have all stood next to one another for last 500+ years .

I prefer to see co-existence in peace .

If I had to flee Europe in a hurry , it's only a 5 minutes boat ride to Asia .

Istanbul has an Asian side as well as a European one too .

Which is nice .

Since, believe it or not , I actually do think true racism is a bad thing I hate to see such abuse of the term.

When people commit acts like this against religion it is considered a hate crime. All hate crimes are based on racism. People who target Religion are just as much a racist as people who target skin color, culture and nationality. Racism hasn't applied to just race for decades now.

Jail time, imo, is excessive, there are alternative punishments less burdensome on the tax payer. I think the sentence may be to placate a portion of the population to help ensure things don't become inflamed.

One year in jail will teach that poor emotional girl a lesson. I see this as a intervention.

These are why us normal Brits call chavs. they are the white trash of the UK. Likely they have a full rap sheet of anti social behavior charges and are known to the local police. In fact Ul put money on it. Normal law abiding Brits do not associate with the EDL or SDL. These groups are as extreme and violent as the Muslim groups they oppose. There are known to violently, incite riots attack people, destroy property and send death threats. They are basically on edge of being deemed a terrorist organization themselves and rightly so. In fact I have no idea why they havent already, they use violence and intimidation to spread there views, that to me is the definition of terrorists.

I agree, it would be interesting to see what previous they had on their record already which could have influenced their sentence.
I also imagine they were too stupid to even act remorseful and sorry in court, you know, apology letter to the mosque and such like...many things influence a sentencing decision by the Sheriff court, and turning up dressed as a chav who just left Primark is never going to help, too stupid to even show a bit of fake respect to the court by dressing formally.

If it was my lad facing the music, I'd have first bollocked him, then helped him script a well worded apology letter including an offer to do some restorative community work, then got him in a shirt and tie attending court with instructions to just keep saying sorry, I'm so ashamed of myself, moment of madness, never do it again blah blah.

It isn't that difficult to influence a court in your favour, done it more than a few times myself in the past. Stupid white trash.

Now that its been tainted...they would have to re-consecrate the mosque (in their way)...and even so, many prob wont go in by touching the doors from now on.
