Have you done a thread on any of this? I would like to see your past research on the matter. You can try to scare me away all you want, but I'm a pretty brave soul. Unless you have something I can look at in depth about it, before you came here to scare us, then I'm not sure I'm buying it. People poofing away?

I am just going to point out one observation of mine over the years of lurking here before joining.

TheoneElectric, is very intelligent and very versed in these topics, he seems to have done his homework every time he types in every thread I have seen a response from him(if he is a he, maybe she is a she instead? I do not know).

He is one of the few folks that when talking about any of this sudo science stuff I really put any stock in.

I do not believe in most of the time slips, time travel, chanelling aliens from the pleades etc.......but when TheOneElectric talks about any of this, I do listen.

I am certainly not trying to disagree with his/her theories! This is all beyond the cliff I ever wanted to step of off on ATS. It rattles my foundation to the core. That is why I am looking for their research on the matter. I want to soak up all the knowledge I can, and personal experiences speak the best to me.

Something so simple as the spelling of a common children's book has brought me to a place I never thought I would be, researching alternate timeline theories....

How can two of the books possibly have both Berenstain in the title AND Berenstein Bears Cub Club?!

The top book has Berensteins. The bottom one Berenstains. Clearly they changed something at some point, yes? Maybe we on Team Stein are not all crazy? It's not a time slip, but something else?

originally posted by: gemineye Sounds silly, but I KNOW it was stEin because I started reading these books quite young and I started out pronouncing it as "steen." It was quite a while before I learned that the correct pronunciation was "stine" and now I'm seeing it is "stain!" My mind is blown.

Same. I cannot imagine ever pronouncing "BerenstAin" as Berensteen.

I couldnt agree more.

I am an ardent science guy, metaphysics etc.....lol ya I role my eyes 99% of the time and just stop reading and or paying attention.

Now though.....I am not so sure, before this thread, I had never heard of the mandella effect, or any of this, but now.....with at least tens of thousands of others also having alternate memories of what is seemingly reality.

Well WTF is actually reality now?

I remember louie anderson dying, and mandella at least 1 other time, I remember NZ being north east of Australia.......

I am speechless honestly, I am at a total loss here, that is why I have not been contributing more, I have for one of the first times in my entire life, nothing to contribute, either positive or negative, all I can do is watch in amazement and prey someone can figure out WTF is really going on here.

Wait, why did they change it? Up till about 3 years ago I had many of these books! I'm 21 (20 but will be 21 in a couple weeks) and I SWEAR it was EIN!

Apologies for the "dumb" remark. I have been dealing with a lot of dummies personally lately - I was probably frustrated and venting a little. For what it is worth, I went to a bookstore Saturday and got my kids a Berenste/ain bears book.

But it HAS always been Berenstain.

This is all starting to remind me of the movie "The forgotten".

It is aliens running an experiment on us, and the government isnt helping them, they are actually just trying to limit the damage, and keep the human race from freaking the hell out when we find out.

Nice find! I didn't think to check the ISBN....glad someone is on top of their game.

There is also ISBN 0679812628... here and here

It's interesting to note that the title says BerenstEin while it credits the author as Stan BerenstAin... I just don't quite know how to piece this all together....

Also, it's a little unsettling that when I ran both ISBN10: 0679812628 and ISBN13: 9780679812623 through the Random House database...all I could get was

Sorry, your search did not match any books.

In my timeline it was always -stein. Until now apparently.

We argued about whether it was pronounced "steen" or "stine" and "stain" never entered the equation.

Weirdness.

MAAAYYYBEE, once the orignal writer died, and if a relative or whatever took over, maybe they wanted it changed to their family spelling to make it more personable?

But that wouldn't explain why all the books that were bought and sold prior to the authors death could say BerenstAin on them....a name change doesn't do this justice...IMO

Either it's mass delusion or...(something else)...don't ask me what that something else is because I'm beginning to seriously doubt my sanity as an individual...

Ok, I have NEVER been good at geography, but I also remember NZ being NE of Australia. I was chalking that one up to my very poor geography skills, but now I see you saying that! Ugh.... What is going on with that?

Wow, looks like most of y'all just got to this reality! Welcome!

I have always remembered it as Berenstain- It always struck me as weird that it was spelled that way: uncommon name. So it stuck in my head well.

There's a bunch of people over here where I am that came from a reality where Marilyn Monroe was spelled Marylin Monroe.

Those reality shifts can really drive ya nuts, can't they?

I had a world history class in which I had to memorize every country and capital...granted it was nearly 20 years ago....I still remember NZ where it is today(more or less)...never NE...but from what I can recall it wasn't exactly SE either, it was more E than anything...

BUT...I also DO NOT remember Australia being in such close proximity to Papua New Guinea...

If I were to create a map how I remember it...I'd just move the southern shore of Australia south about 3/4 of an inch...
