a reply to: megabogie i think the theory of the nuke test startling a creature seems to fit that story. However i feel in this case it was a human that turned into something and it was planned. As far as the drugs maybe the term getting high stems from such events. As i said in another post i don't think we should be hunting for a bigfoot cause they really do not hurt anyone. The thought of human transformation seems crazy unless you delve into the vast amounts of so called myths in our history. Let's just hope the recipe does not spread by this case.

I've never even considered a bigfoot or the friend. I think it's something we have no idea about. Something intelligent enough to know the opportune moment to strike, something that is able to appear and disappear at will. Something thst leaves no trace of it's presence. What THAT is...I have absolutely no idea. I think it's something we've never heard of or can imagine.

Found this article providing Byars account of the events early on and also this on facebook.
The date of the memorial ride and so far the absence of a single remark from Byars, are
notable IMO.

Now, here's something we hope you'll really like.

Now consider the possibility of underground primates
( not neccessarily apes ). That are powerful enough to
use great sized boulders to cover the entrance to their
dwellings?

At this point, I say why not!?! Big hairy underground living primates, multi-dimensional beings, little green trolls with magic wands...whatever it is, nobody would probably believe it til they saw it with their own eyes.

Byars is the key that could unlock a lot of the confusion.
Doesn't mean he has to be guilty of anything. But even if he
only repeats, what authorities have already said to the media?
We still need to hear it from him. He should man up and make
a public statement or it looks really bad if he doesn't.

a reply to: megabogie have you ever heard of those cases down in the swamp in la. that involved some folks getting killed by falling 30' into the swamp. What could take a man up in the air and drop him? It's a shape shifter. something like a ware wolf rougarou. Pretty compelling case made for it really happening. It was a person that changed and spent a week or so eating rats and stuff hole until they found him dead from a drop. Unless Byars sincerely feels responsible...there are few 'good' reasons that would justify the dearth of information coming from his end of the equation.

One thing that might cause it to make sense could be - clouded-memory.
Terror could cause such a short-circuit.
Mind/Psyche-altering substances could cause such a short-circuit.

As regards Byars coming out...with more detail...there are other possibilities...like:
- he doesn't believe he actually saw/witnessed what he recalls...
- he does recall...and fears that others will think he's fabricating...
- he knows exactly what he saw...and was debriefed/(threatened) 'not to tell'

I realize that these may be weak...but, they are still possible...until other information surfaces that soundly refutes them (imo).

One thing that bugs me about the 'scary monster' scenario, is -
"Why Herdman?"
"Why not Herdman and Byars?"

Well I left a respectful message and a link to this thread on Mikes
memorial facebook page. So people closest to him might actually realise
the dilemma. I have no idea about facebook etiquette and what is
appropriate. So I basically, just made it known by exampling one of the
more innocent questions we have. And left a link to this thread.

Yeah - who knows what 'etiquettes' are appropriate anymore...?
Do hope you're fairing well in your new endeavor/s and that they are not as disgruntling as this story has panned out to be!
I don't do Facebook...after having tried it for a few days and realized that it was going to take me somewhere I was unwilling to go (in life)...
There are some seriously funky things about this case.
Almost no-one has recognized the super-funkiness of the geo-anomaly in the general vicinity...that I posted...and yet - - - - - - - - - what are the odds?
What are the odds that such an anomaly would be present in every satellite rendering of the area since 1996...in the exact same shape, size and location... ...where this took place?
That may be nothing... But
- In every case I've worked since the mid-1980's...when strange coincidences pop up in an investigation... - I - take - note.

Sorry didn't read much of this thread but somebody wrote a book about this - people disappearing from National Parks heard a podcast a few years back...again if this has been brought up before sorry but if i remember correctly these disappearance go back to the 1940's.

Dave Paulides - Rescue 411

Missing-411 is the first comprehensive book about people who have disappeared in the wilds of North America. It’s understood that people routinely get lost, some want to disappear but this story is about the unusual. Nobody has ever studied the archives for similarities, traits and geographical clusters of missing people, until now.

A tip from a national park ranger led to 3+ years and a 7000 hour investigative effort into understanding the stories behind people who have vanished. The book chronicles children, adults and the elderly who disappeared, sometimes in the presence of friends and relatives. As Search and Rescue personnel exhaust leads and places to search, relatives start to believe kidnappings and abductions have occurred. The belief by the relatives is not an isolated occurrence; it replicates itself time after time, case after case across North America.

The research depicts 28 clusters of missing people across the continent, something that has never been exposed and was a shocking find to researchers. Topography does play a part into the age of the victims and certain clusters have specific age and sex consistency that is baffling. This is not a phenomenon that has been occurring in just the last few decades, clusters of missing people have been identified as far back as the 1800’s.

The manuscript for the research was extremely large so the story was split between two books, Missing 411 Western United States and Canada and Missing 411 Eastern United States. The Eastern version will be released in late March and will include a list of all missing people in each edition and a concluding chapter that draws both books together for conclusions.

That anomally, I just get out there far enough as it is
even in my own opinion to even comment. I go from this struggle
within, between posting these outrageous impossibilities
because they are in the grand scheme of reality, actually
possible when I consider my frail judgement of what is
possible and what isn't. And the fact that not one person
on this earth has ever lived that has better judgement
than my own. And i'm really beginning to ramble here
because I just don't know WTF to say about that anomaly.
Except for what a really great find.

You are correct!
It's like all coincidences... You just have NO IDEA if there's something you should be paying attention to...or if you're a fool...if you do...

ETA: Looking at another piece of what you said - boy do I agree. We must count that our ability 'think' without worrying about others telling us we're right, wrong or otherwise...is a part of the potential we all carry...to be Human.
Thanks for your honesty and integrity in that comment!

Couldn't agree more, Randy. I think what would help him would be for someone to let him know this has happened over and over again. Of course the National Parks "don't keep records" so he probably has no idea that they are just the latest victims. This is where Paulides involvement could really help, yet he does not like to contact victims or survivors.

Now that you mention it, I did see a show recently (can't remember what it was called) that referred to Native Americans belief in Skinwalkers. A person was transformed into some kind of beast, killed his family, then did not recall that he actually did it until authorities dug deeper into the story.

That is how i feel about the missing 411 stuff.
Someone/s is actively hunting some of these people who go missing

Now that idea is far out there.

Then on second thought,why not?
Maybe some psycho guy/s wait near the hiking area for "prey" to arrive, and chase them and hunt them down like animals, then make it look like an accident.
Heck even they place a bet on who gets the first kill...

I saw a movie like that once.

The only reason I would not consider this theory is that those hunters probably wouldn't leave his friend alive to tell the story about it.
(Unless he got lucky and escaped.)

I think there's only one way we will ever find out what truly happened, and that is if Byars will make a public statement and tell us what really happened, because most of us don't believe this bull of a story that we read in reports.

This depends on how strongly his conscience will be nagging him to tell the truth. Could be 2 weeks, 10 years,he could go to the grave never telling a soul what really happened.

We very possibly might never know. It all depends on him.
