When I try to imagine not having a physical body, I end up thinking it is a ultra strange, hard to grasp idea. How is it even possible.
So we don't see with eyes because we don't have eyes. We can manifest in any way we want when it comes to how we want others to "see" us. If we think about a place, that's where we go. If we think of where want to exist, it becomes our reality. Very strange ideas.

From the perspective of my current physical existence, all of this seems quite improbable. It doesn't feel real to me, even though I strongly believe we go on in some conscious manner after we die.

How could a non-physical existence seem very real, and this current physical existence seem like a dream when I leave my body when I die. (I stopped using question marks because my computer keyboard suddenly turned French.)

I totally feel where you're commin from dude. i dont feel like anything matters like, its not real anyway so who cares.I just feel like there's more to everything, almost like i'm missing something or i'm not perceiving something. I've just had this very weird feeling.Death is more than likely the only way we'll find out if our consciousness maybe ascends to a higher plane when we die, or maybe when we die we create a new universe that we're born into. like when we die our consciousness just goes to a different parallel universe.

The body is the source...don't deny it. Any ideas of spirituality that take you away from life are false. It is nice to imagine and dream of course but that is all it is...imagination and dreaming.

Try to imagine being your body...it is a wonderful thing.

Many people have been there friend and been back to tell of their experiences. Of course skeptics dismiss all this.

I have experienced being out of body just once, and yes it was strange thinking back on it.

When it happened though, it felt natural, I could see - I cannot explain to you how or with what I could see but I could see my actual surroundings and at the time it just felt normal. At first I did not even realize I was out of body, i felt normal, vision looked the same, etc.

When it happened to me, it was very brief and I do not believe I had much control as to 'where I went' and such so to speak.

I wish I could offer you more but I cannot. I just know what has happened to me and I know I saw things I should not have been able to see unless I truly was viewing from outside my own body. My physical eyes were not working very well at the time

Those experiences...or at least the understanding of them have various subjective explanations. Which one will you choose?

The life you have right now is the mystery. Somehow you want more than this. Why is this never enough? Spirituality is not about denying life but embracing it, finding beauty in it. Can't you see that all those astral projectors and would be escapees from this life right here are in denial. Why not set yourself on a true spiritual path...

It's easy to see how many readers would assume you are taking an anti-spiritual approach to the subject. At first glance it appeared you were being ignorant to other's experiences, but of course you were not intending that. You were instead pointing to an important understanding, Here and Now is all we Have so it should be our Focus.

At the same time, the OP is pointing to something you have already judged as worthless to all others. Perhaps there is something you may have missed too ?

If I may. I understand most Seekers are unfocused even in what they think is their spiritual path, and so there are many joy-riding around the astral having experiences that don't provide growth of awareness.

But, there are some seekers who have understood we are soul first, with a small portion of it choosing earthly experiences. These will be growing in awareness by Adding their 'ancient' knowledge to their current physical experience, as was probably their souls option for the life. Doing so creates the need for Focus in the Here and Now in order to be all that you can be Here.

Yeah, my body went to hell when I got older and worn out. I keep asking myself the same question, "where is my body".

I have pondered the same thing, more so since I'm getting older and also since I have lost both parents and nearly all close relatives. What is afterward...nothing? Or if there is something, how is it possible?

I was thinking about my mum the other day and all of the conversations we had and all of the fun times and I got myself all distressed because I thought "Mum, do you still remember me wherever you are and all of those moments or am I the only one to remember until I die?" Then no one will remember all of those moments. And what would be the point of the whole thing then?

I simply refuse to think we just wink out like a light and everything is just gone. What would be the point of having a consciousness, memories, dreams, sensations? It just wouldn't make sense for nature or a higher power to go through all of the trouble to equip us with these capabilities if they were useless. Nature simply doesn't create useless things.
Except maybe my ex husband...LOL

Hi Oldie

Thank you for that measured reply...it is easy to attract vitriol on ATS. My comments were aimed at the OP really and although in hindsight I could perhaps have come at it differently, it is what it is.

I agree that here and now should be our focus but I was implying something else...

At the same time, the OP is pointing to something you have already judged as worthless to all others. Perhaps there is something you may have missed too ?

That is a good point.

I did say to the OP 'what explanation will you choose'...perhaps some have more value than others. I myself brought up the word 'spirituality' perhaps that will be my undoing.

I do not seek but understand that I am life. There is no first..or portions...or choosing. I am awareness. There is no ancient knowledge to add to this. This last paragraph of yours displays a complete lack of understanding of spirituality.

It is not about all that stuff...

you can look at human consciousness as satellite interpreting a very narrow range of frequencies when awake. When we sleep/OBE/meditate/astral project/die our consciousness tunes to a different range of frequencies and interprets them through a less conscious point of view.

The dream reality works the same as our "physical", but is less dense. Therefore what you think is what you get. Manifestations occur instantly with a thought.

Our physical reality is the same thing only a more solidified dream of the creator. When a person learns how to use their consciousness fully and expand their mind past their body in the waking state, that person realizes their mind IS the environment around them and can literally feel and experience being, a tree, a bug, the earth, the sun, the universe, or a couch, the possibilities are endless.

The human body is a piece of technology created for the advancement of the human consciousness. Unfortunately for the last 3,000 or so years the religions and governments have kept this a secret. When a person learns how to expand their consciousness/soul to handle more dense frequencies i.e. physical matter, that person becomes one with their surroundings and can manipulate this physical reality like a dream.

This is what the ancient Egyptians knew. They use to say they had 360 senses, and their whole purpose of life was to prepare them for the after life.

This all sounds insane i know, but experience has shown me otherwise...

So we don't see with eyes because we don't have eyes.

You see with the same eyes that view the final image coming from your brain's interpretation of your physical eye sight. Except much sharper. These are the eyes you're always looking with. It can even clearly see and detect the quality of your own vision. THAT eyesight is always perfect.

You might enjoy this book "BACK AGAIN". Its free and about the soul traveling and flying thru space and who its meets again and again before being sent back to a body: again and again.

Quite interesting book, and short and easy to read. Some phenomenal things to make you think about in it!

And its FREE!

Just once have I had what I'd consider an out of body experience. It happened while I dozed on the couch.
I became aware that my vision was filled with white, nothing else could be seen.
Slowly I noticed a green tinge started to appear to the left.
Then I noticed a green tinge began to appear at the top of my vision.

Slowly, very slowly, it felt like I was drifting away from the white and green colors.
As I drifted away I realised the white had shape.
As I continued drifting away I suddenly realised the white was a mushroom, and the green was grass, and that the entire scene was upside-down!

It felt like I was the size of a microbe, and freely floating about.

This is subjective and anecdotal but from what I can gather is basically the mark of a true OOBBE. I have had about three that with hand on heart were the real thing. They happened over thirty years back,
when I was actively seeking them although, I have tried to repeat them I've had no luck. I am wondering if you can do them easier when your younger and fitter.

When leaving the body their is a rushing or buzzing sensation like a noisy wind, you then have full awareness of the particular environment if its the bedroom you can see yourself laying on the bed. This is usually when you freak out , and head back to the body, consciousness slowly comes to, in the body, but you have a paralysis and cant move anything for what seems quite a while, this is also a worry but feeling and movement come back. Then when you sit up (in your body)you are astounded, frightened in fact many emotions.

I know they were real because on one I went to the other side of the world, and saw a freeway that was not there when I was lasts physically back in the place, later when I was there in person it was as I had observed it in the OOBE.

The induction process was always the same counting down from ten to one, until it felt as if you were floating.and when I was almost asleep turning over into the recovery position. Then the rushing sound started. I didn't notice any cord attached to my body on the one occasion I observed it.

I also have the feeling that the freaked out feelings I had after and the fact that it wasn't the sort of thing normal people do might have put a psychological block on the process.

It might also be worth adding that the next day after the OOBE. you feel quite drained. Its my personal supposition that the energy for it has been taken from the physical body.

That is the conundrum the thinking, the mind, and processing meta-physics through the physical.

The only way possible is OBE's and proving to oneself.

That is the problem with OBE's until you actually have one yourself, it's almost impossible to comprehend. I used to think people where FOS until I had an involuntary one.

Scared the absolute %hit of me.

My Story if you are interested here on ATS years ago.

The same way you can tell the difference between a picture of a strawberry and the experience of eating one. One of them leaves no room for doubt.
