Can we trust the NSA to NOT cover for the IRS?

No...

It doesn't look like we can trust any of them.

If this is true...it is unbelievable.

It is time to give this to the FBI...I still trust them.

This scandal will put people in prison.

Doesn't seem to ever happen. The higher ups get a presidential pardon.

Maybe they're pleading the 5th.

Since Congress is asking for the metadata, perhaps it will place the NSA spying in good light in the public eye. Though the IRS isn't John Q Public, so maybe not.

Whoa..whoa..whoa. I know what really happend. It was alien wizards. they cast a spell of disintegration on the computers and backup servers. Yea that's the ticket.

But really. They lost all the emails..really. I'm sorry, I just wanna go and hang my head in shame for what this admin gets away with.

Oh,...and page 3; still no Obama supporter commentary. huh. go figure.

What scares me is that there are Obama supporters out there who honestly believe he is doing a good job...... When you have people that far gone, it's hard to figure anyone would ever be able to wrangle them back to sanity...

There it is jhn... if the patient typing is absolutely tranced:
and suddenly notices that in fact what he's about to send
onto the board is patent nonsense even to him:
we've achieved a breakthrough!

This scenario and its innate lacka plausibility may have
CURED some of the more frequent Rainbow posters!

I personally will support any story that makes sense; but
when the NSA has everything for the last seven years
from everyone except Lois' hard drive... not tonight.

Yet I bet someone in some unknown agency has a copy of pretty much any email that any random citizen has sent over the last 10 years or so. What a sham

"Would you believe...
(doing the best Don Adams / Maxwell Smart he can under the circumstances...

The alien wizards didn't have to cast a spell. Just kind of amplify the
huge CME this afternoon to cause a glitch in the backup stream
JUST AS the Friday (ROFL God help us the 13th) backup was going
up the wire, and we lost Kirk in the Nexus.

' Later Sir Patrick falls madly in love with Romana instead and the
kids do a Dysfunctional Family Robinson Christmas; except for Kirk
because he gets to schnozzle the redheaded cupcake and every-
body in the cottage gets roaring drunk until New Year's afternoon."

And I'm all out of milk and cookies, it's midnight with Lois' hard
drive STILL a distant second for plausibility. Set knows I tried.....

This is the biggest load of what Mike Rivero refers to as
USDA Prime bovine excrement all year. And we've had a
lot of candidates so far. Star, Flag, and hopefully the use
of the Admiral's flagship for a week. This monster movement
deserves to float at the top of the bowl long past November.

I also lost track of the posts but conversely hope this is
my only original. I worked as another hat on my rack
writing proprietary software for engineering services and
purchasing... and was left with site chief cook and bottle
washer handle on our local server and hubs. In a nut bit-
when it got lost or went wrong it was ALL my fault.
For almost five years I had to be a better and more
diligent record keeper than the BND, because some of
these people could lose a whole pencil between their
letter keys. I kid you not. I made backups like Jesus
told us to forgive--- like close to seventy times seven.
From a pro IT slave-- no way is even a byte missing from
a stack of docs this important. This is DC, not Stockton.

I DID NOT just get off the shuttle bus in FantasyLand Lois.

Anybody trying to tell you there are things missing are also
implying that half inch wide tape is still the hot setup for
removable media--- and deserve to be flailed with CAT5 o'
Nine Tails until he cheers up. "OOoohh, a baby blue colored
whip, I'm so excited... have you got that in Mauve? OMG

Cant the NSA provide the emails?

I wish people wouldn't take sides and gleefully try to instigate an Us vs Them fight on ATS. That's not constructive at all! And it makes us feel even more divided. Why do that? What purpose does it serve besides something having to do with egos and I-told-you-so's?
We are better than that! The media infotainment shills, the talk-radio pundits, the key players in both parties running on the current trend of people to blame the 'other side'; that's what fuels the fire! Fractious grouping based on low-level, emotional kneejerk immaturity!

By the way, I am NOT an Obama supporter!

And on the topic: It's despicable that the IRS would claim the emails are lost, and ridiculous to boot. Unbelievable much? And I agree, people should go to jail over this. Send in a team, get the emails, and punish the liars.

I am simply amazed that we tolerate these liars. Impeach Obama and all of his administration. Oh...and if you lose an email...the person to whom that email was addressed or sent to should be immediately fired. I'm in computers and technology. Emails NEVER get "lost". Between backups, server caches, etc...they only disappear if they are made to disappear.

Nothing is ever really lost on the internet. The investigators simple need to contact her email provider. They will have the emails.

This is a calculated move that they would rather suffer the legal repercussions of tampering with evidence and destroying evidence and stick to a lie that the files were accidently lost than they would have the public identify the facts that the IRS was used by a sitting president to target and punish his political enemies and steal an election. Everyone in the IT field knows it is completely impossible to accidently lose email files now days. They are required by law and undergo periodic inspections for compliance, to have numerous off site backups for all these email files. This is no coincidence and no accident. This is a calculated decision to thwart Gowdy’s investigation knowing that they desire to choose THIS crime over getting caught over THAT crime. They also know that the accusation of evidence destruction will never get investigated as long as Holder is in place and they can just add it to the long list of “false scandals” and count on the media not talking about it. They also know the public is too scared and too divided and too buried in a crappy economy and too selfish with all the available government handouts to rise up and demand justice let alone even care about it.

Now that the IRS had said that they lost the emails, I would laugh my but off if someone from the NSA came out and said, everything is ok we found a copy of all of her emails in our database.

Convenient? They mean criminal don't they? Let's stop watering down language when it comes to government malfeasance.

Another cog in the Obama machine caught with their fingers in the cookie jar.
When are any of them going to be prosecuted?
Nixon was thrown out of office for much, much less than what Obama has gotten away with already.
I think he no longer fears the American people or any legal attempt to remove him from office.
I'm sick of him and all the plutocrats of either stripe in Washington.
We need more change.

this is getting ridiculous, the last 2 months have been non stop on screw ups and everything.

the VA scandal then bergdahl and the taliban 5 then ISIS and illegal kids now this and probably a few i forgot about.

and before the VA was what?

fast and furious, benghazi, more IRS and my head is spinning trying to keep track, oh yeah, bundy.

let alone ukraine, syria, lybia.

someone should make a chronology of all this.

It's fine when they have a crash or lose files, but if you or I lose information we are still responsible for all the fines, penalties and anything else the IRS deems just.

Unreal.
