This thread has taken some mean twists. I felt sorry for the old guy when I read the headline. He's 99 years old, has just seen his son, and now he gets this news. I have no idea if he has more children, but losing any is a tragedy of epic proportions.

Yeah I agree.

People have a knee jerk reaction to successful people.

The rockefellers are some of the most committed families to education and the cultural enriching of the masses and the freedom of mind education offers. They don't hand out dollars so I guess they are evil or something. They did leave a legacy of much more than riches. They left a wealth of positive contributions to humanity. They still carry that torch.

We are all mortal for crying out loud. This guy deserves some respect. He is not with us like we will be gone one day from here.

I say god speed and thank you.

Stealing natural resources and oppressing the people who live near them is good? You must not know the history of the Rockefellers of my state

Good riddance, I say, and I usually will not say anything bad about someone dying.

I will copy paste and translate a myth (in a different way, to help you understand).

It was 2 herds of goats once upon a time. Each herd had 1 master male 4 guard males and lots of females.

The Kronian race wanted to eat these goats, so they send their best hunters to get them down and skin them, eat them.

When their agents moved near the herds, all goats took a defensive stance in both herds. The females in the middle, the 4 males in the 4 corners of the circle and the alpha making circles around them and their horns ready to attack.

The hunters couldn't brake their defense, so Kronians made a Eureka thought. The democracy... They dressed up some hunters with goat costumes and they went near the herds. And they start speaking with the females first.

The Kronian race said : Your alpha keeps you away from the best grass, he keeps it for himself and he let you eat the left overs and the bad grass...

The females goats said : You may right, but what we can do! This is our alpha!
The Kronians said : There is a way to make it stop and earn ALL the good grass for you!
They goats said : WOOW but HOW?

Kronians said : we will teach you democracy, you will riot against your leader and you will change the rules, for who is going to be your alpha! Instead of your traditional fighting with your horns and the strongest gets the leadership. You will point out a couple of possible leaders and you will vote them! You only have to do, is to vote those who promise you most things...And you will "vote them" by moving stones next to them. The one who gets the most of the stones, will be your new alpha!

The first herd accepted the offer but the second herd said : What the #$# are u talking about! Mother earth taught us for millions of years now, that this is the right way. A fight and the strongest wins. Get away from us!
........

After 10 years of time, the first herd vanished, the kronians eat it, because they got elected with goat costumes. But the second herd, was tripled in population since!

That is there success Mr. Tadaman

@ the original myth, is the myth of Esopos, before the cataclysmic event, the real greeks used the strongest men and smart as their leaders. It was the generation of heroes. But after the cataclysmic event and when Greece united with the left overs of atlantian races (kronian races) as differnt tribes, they brought democracy and Esopos made a story out of it... Its more or less, what you read with the goats. Its not the exact original myth, but a way to make you understand it better. What the myth is about.

When famous people are involved in an 'accident' I cant help but wonder, how many of the deaths are truly, deaths?

How many of them are a way of creating a new identity, for the purpose of disappearing to achieve a goal, perhaps they are doing some type of 'evil' they need to take the scope off of them. Or likewise they're doing some good and need to be hidden from those that wish to prevent it? Or perhaps they just want to live in peace, away from the media and hustle bustle that is attributed to being rich and famous.

Just a thought; eat it up, absorb what you need, # the rest out. Enjoy!

Either way, may he rest in peace, (if in fact he has died) and my condolences to his family.

Interesting.

I am of a strong sentiment for leaders MADE based on merit of strength and intelligence. Titans.

I am for the way it was always when kingship was first made among free men... raising up one of their own and the scepter was first placed in the willing and strong hand that grasped it for the good of his people. My heart is buried in that sacred tomb. The seed lies waiting in winter. I would stand and rise with and for ...such lion men like an eager sapling yearning for life itself.... if such Titans ever rose again. Let the season come to pass and let the spirit of the Heroes of old rise from the hallowed ground of their slumber like spring blossoms in full bloom!

I would add more, but it would just be spirals of what you said.

I agree!

I see broken animals in leadership and not a single Titan!

Where are the Titans?

They shall return. They are our very nature. They never left. They only sleep so as to be awakened.

Titans shall be risen once again!

Apparently he was at his Father's 99th Birthday party and he was on his own. He could have just been drunk!

I don't know the guy, I just know of him and I have no idea if he was like his Father. It's a tragedy! Regardless if he is the son of a Ruthless Banker!

I don't know why there should be a conspiracy surrounding this incident.
Maybe I just had Montauk on my mind and "old money".

The latitude of HPN is near 41°.

Some interesting old school history not too far east of there off Montauk..

41° 3'55.00"N, 72° 5'31.41"W

Indeed. May his soul rest in peace and my thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. RIP Richard Rockefeller

His family name should not be an excuse to disrespect the dead. The guy was a doctor on his way to treat a war veteran with PTSD, for all we know he could have disliked the history of his family.

More please. We seemed to hit a dry spot there for a little bit, with any luck maybe this is a sign it's picking up again.

Rockefeller creed.
"...only in the purifying fire of sacrifice is the dross of selfishness consumed and the greatness of the human soul set free."

"...David Rockefeller's most burning ambition: a World Trade Center."
Burning ambition?

"Like Rockefeller Center and Chase Manhattan before it, the complex would be an example of what David called "catalytic bigness" -- a project whose sheer size and impact would be large enough to provide the stimulus for further redevelopment. Indeed, the project David had in mind was so large and ambitious that it would require the resources of the state to bring it to fruition. As it happened, by January 1959 those resources were under the control of a new governor -- David's brother, Nelson -- who would soon take the lead in making his youngest sibling's vision a reality. In the years to come, as the project began rising over the skyline of Lower Manhattan, New Yorkers would give the immense twin towers a knowing nickname: David and Nelson."

The rise in oil prices after 9/11 earned ExxonMobil more profit in two quarters than any corporation had ever made before. ExxonMobil being the largest part of their Grandfathers business.

Mass human sacrifice plus money in the bank. Nice people.

RIP whatever his name was.

Personally, I will shed no crocodile tears. I will also not cheer a death on the other hand. I guess that would make me indifferent to the whole situation.
