As I told people in the thread about the boy being taken away from his family because he was "to fat". if you let the goverment do the regulating of our families in this way eventually they will be in your home like they are in the businesses.

Do we want them telling us what can be in the fridge? how many blankets you have to have on the bed? Can you own a Motorcycle if you have kids? They will tell you what hour the kids HAVE to eat meal and when they HAVE to go to bed...

We can't open these doors no matter what!!

This thread has almost left me for a total lack of words...almost.
Seems to me CPS is pointing fingers in the wrong direction. Should it not be the child who claimed the pencil twirling looked like a gun who is in need of a psych assessment? Seriously, if they can fabricate a case against the pencil twirling innocent, then I'm sure it's not much of a stretch to fabricate some type of Rorscach Pencil Twirling test.
Might want to include the teaching staff and the social workers too. Bit of mass pencil gun hysteria going on.

You're surprised? People have been voting in these idiots for years! You reap what you sow.

Everyone wants a handout, and this is the price you pay.

I like that verse in the Bible that says, "for when they shall say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them."

If this happened to me, I would tell the state of New Jersey:

Molon Labe

Let's see which CPS monkey is brave enough.

I was in HS in the 90's and there was a kid who accidentally left his hunting rifle on the back window of his truck. He was sent a warning not to bring it again. I wonder if nowadays they'd do more?

There were no cops in my school. We were layed back. No talks about mass shootings. Those were the good days, before the mass shootings became more common and everything is more draconian.

They will pass anti-bullying measures and it'll be much worse. Funny thing is I was bullied a lot and I don't want these draconian measures. I can imagine bullies being sent to psychiatric care to be evaluated. If it's determined they have the problematic signs, they'll receive treatment. The same thing will happen for the bullied if mental abberations are associated with it. In fact, a lot of these indicators will be spotted in childhood. It's kind of creepy because they'll be examining children maybe too closely.

They're treating people like machines or programs or something. It'll become so bad AI will blend in because we'll have a lot in common with it. With so many rules and controls, we're going to resemble the machines.

Security or freedom? We're so afraid these days. Maybe it's the internet. I don't think we're paranoid, but we're just somehow not prepared.

I don't know what all this mass shooting is going to be blamed on, but it does seem common most of them have mental problems. I wonder where it'll go? Who'll get nerve stapled? How will schools change?

Nice post. It's all about fear and how to control freedom to produce security. How mcuh freedom are we willing to sacrifice for security?

Keep in mind that this is the same agency whch is responsible for the placing, and then loosing track of, these four children:

Young Man Starved by Adoptive Parents Finds New Life

Authorities discovered Tre'Shawn and his three brothers when a neighbor spotted the eldest brother, Bruce, rifling through a trash can for food. At 19, Bruce weighed just 45 pounds. Brother Tyrone was 10 years old and 28 pounds; Michael, 9, and 23 pounds.

The brothers had come to the Jackson home as foster children, and Tre'Shawn said the abuse started after they were formally adopted. Their story alerted the nation -- and New Jersey -- to the growing crisis of lost children.

"The child welfare system is badly broken," said Kevin Ryan, formerly the New Jersey child advocate and current commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services, at a hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee in 2003.

How many more examples of overreach by tinhorn, beauracratic, dictators who think themsleves lords of their own little fiefdoms can we have?

From my reading, thd school dropped their action after a hue a cry was raised thanks to a local story going viral however, the state level actions are still pending.

Oh gee, pencil twirling?! Seriously? Do they know pencil twirling is a new fad among kids? They do all sorts of tricks with them. There's like videos all over YouTube and my daughter talks about how annoying it is because all the boys are into it.

Yet... Yet... When my daughter brought to the school psychologist's attention about a boy in her 5th grade class who constantly talks about guns and weapons, says mean things all the time, talks about hurting people like it's funny, and swears like a sailor. What do they do? Say they'll look into it and speak with him and his parents. Yet nothing has come of it and he still comes to class and still talks and acts the same.

WTF is wrong with the country?! We're looking in the wrong direction. Yet when another student snaps and begins hurting others we'll ask the same stupid question "how could this happen?".

There are so many stories like this one coming to the fore...they can't all be misconstrued. Why some folks feel we don't have all the facts is beyond me. Even if this one has more to it, which I doubt...a pencil is a pencil, not a gun. Should we ban pencils now? Better not send our kids to school with a banana, if it has the wrong shape to it, it may be construed as a gun in shape. Kids gotta watch out what shape they bite their sandwiches/pop-tarts into...heaven forbid if it looks like a gun in shape!

What next, cameras in the latrine...to check and see if any kids have pooped a turd in the shape of a gun? Geez, this is all getting so outta hand. Some schools are not allowing kids to play tag or play with a ball at recess anymore. Pretty soon, recess will be having all the kids up against the wall with hands on their heads until it is over. The idiots that are wanting to enforce all this should be put up against the wall, m!@#$%^&*@#$% and made to feel like they are criminals.

School shootings that actually occur, are the kids so drugged up as most are by the school shrinks in charge or frustrated beyond belief. Is all the fear and whatnot being fed to them pushing them over the edge.

Seems the kids have to watch out how they breathe/walk/talk/chew and more to just stay out of coming under scrutiny for the tiniest of things. I pity kids of today. Even types of play are being mandated/controlled or done away with altogether. When do the black uniforms for them come out? Perhaps they will be made to skip lunch and recess altogether in the name of safety. How about diapers so no more bathroom visits...and TSA around to check those...geez, it is all bizarre and too much.

We voted these dummies in? With corrupt voting systems nowadays and all parties being the same faction, that dog don't hunt anymore either. It is what it is, TERRIBLE.

My friends everywhere you look you see where we lost control of this government . This is yet another example staring us in the face of a government gone wild.

I have seen freedoms vanish over the years. I have grand kids and I am terrified of whats life going to be for them.
I may not see it but can imagine last 50 years the next 50 is frightening . To turn this around for me its to late . Just like the lefts mantra for the children if we dont stop this now its our children and grandchildren who will suffer even more.
If we dont do it now we are condemning our children to even worse situation.

I like to think there will be a backlash toward libertarianism, smaller government, but after seeing what the Republicans did to the Ron Paul supporters, manipulating and rigging everything to block their votes, flat out misreporting results, all with ZERO consequences, I wonder how we can ever change things.

And typically things get *really, really* bad before things blow up. Look at the housing bust, the dot-com bust. Things went way beyond unsustainable, for years, before they crashed. Seeing as how any change requires mobilizing people who have jobs and families and tv shows to watch, it will get beyond unsupportable before there's a change. Right now it's uncomfortable, it's maddening, but people deal with it. I don't call them sheeple; everyone has to prioritize.

But the side that wants MORE big government, like Occupy types, are more likely to mobilize and get their way first.

I remember reading about a family, perhaps a foster or adoptive family, where a social worker took the kid(s) away because there was no milk in the fridge. They were lactose intolerant or vegan or just didn't like milk, I forget the reasons, but even if they just hadn't gotten to the store, can you imagine if the state took kids from every home without milk?

In my family the milk was mainly for the adults' coffee. As soon as we even opened the refrigerator to take some our for our cereal, they would yell, "Don't drink all the milk!" So we'd pour a little dribble over our Lucky Charms. Many times we had no milk. And whose job was it to go down to the store and buy more? Why, me or my sister, of course, as soon as we were big enough to carry a half-gallon. My mother would probably be shot nowadays.

not picking on you in particular - but are you freaking serious ????????????????

you have heard ONE SIDE of the tail - that is NOT " all the facts "

DEAD SERIOUS.

Do you really think that they released this story and left out the parts about how he went on and on about killing his classmates, teachers, parents, and counselors? Do you think that as much as they like to glorify this shiite that they left out how he was holding a list of people he was going to kill while making noises and aiming his pencil?

Maybe they left out the part where he was writing on the walls of the bathroom stall his exact plans for revenge/murder. They sure as hell don't hold it back from any other story. Even if they have to go back and correct misinformation they rush to put it all out there for public consumption.

If they had a "smoking gun" that would have been the FIRST thing they released. Not the last.

All you have to do is take a look at how CPS is funded. What brings in money and grants, and what doesn't. Helping a truly abused child is not profitable. The more kids they adopt out and place into foster care the more federal funding they get. Plus they can collect welfare for every child in state care! I kid that costs a lot for medical services, therapy and so on, isn't the type of kid CPS wants to deal with. No they want the kids of poor parents who can't a afford a lawyer to fight back, so that they can get money for having them in care with spending a lot on the services that a truly abused kid would need.

I think it always has started on Sat. For the last many. many, it's been 1st in Nov.

It varies, depending on type of deer, whether you are muzzleloading, rifle hunting, or an archer. At least this year.

I haven't hunted deer in 15 years. When I was a kid, i usually went with a friend who's dad was a presbyterian minister and all around great guy, on the land of one of the congregation members.

Now i just hunt hog. its cheaper for the lease, and no limits on what you take home (they are "varmints" or "exotic"....i can't recall).

Our teachers treated us more like their family. Expulsion was something that just wouldn't happen.
