Ok, I don't expect too much of a response here, but.. alot of people around CB, Nova Scotia reported a small black monster who lives along the shoreline and randomly attacks people. It has powerful claws and leaves a strange, unnatural scar when it attacks. I heard alot of reports for this from people I can trust. Any insight, comments, sightings to add?

The elusive Canadian lynx enjoys protected status here and it is thought that the endangered eastern panther may have also found refuge in the wilderness regions of the high plateau. Other mammals in the park include otter, muskrat, mink and beaver along the valley streams, and the bobcat, raccoon and coyote that migrated to the island after the Canso Causeway joined Cape Breton to the mainland in 1955.

Just a thought.

reminiscent of various folk lorish tales taht crop up regularly world wide, and the unnatural scarring makes me think of the recent monkey man sightings and encounters in the UK where metal claws were involved.

If you do know people who have had encounters I suggest you take statements and conduct an investigation. Not enough people do anymore.

Yep would have to agree , there is also legend of a beast in
wisconsin as well. Have a look www.weird-wi.com...

Personally I wonder if these things are just some kind of animal, and the
stories get embellished as time go's on.
Just a thought anyway

What does the creature look like?

I'm imagining something reptilian.

Personally i think its bogus. Magic scars kind of ruins the story IMO..

Thats what happens most of the time IMO. Think about it: a rogue gerbil gets stepped on by a goat. It retaliates by biting and scuttering away. A passerby sees the moon reflected in its eyes and screams. They notice the goat is bleeding.....

CHUPACABRA!

Seriously though, have you seen any of these scars? If you could get a pic of one of the more zoological among us would be able to narrow it down for you.

Well, the thread is about two years old... And Nihilist Freak (O.P.) didn't post for almost two years, then made a quick appearance and then disappearance in March this year... Not one of ATS most active posters…

I have lived in Cape Breton my whole life, and posting from CB at the moment. Personally I have never heard of this story, I'll check out the link when I get home I guess to see if I am missing something.

You aren't missing anything. Don't worry.

Now I come to think of it - There once was a report of a bunch of tourists (?) being attacked by a hairy being comming out of the water somewhere, or doing some stuff at the shoreline. (Cant remember exactly) There were a lot of details... Maybe its related? Cant remember anything else unfortunately, but I think we have a thread on it somewhere.

It was quite an interesting case, one of the most exciting I've heard of.
