I agree with most of you that it just look like gold painted tourist stuff, even the pottery is gold
, and way too much sand though it is Egypt "The land of sand", it just overall looks wierd or unreal and not like a tomb.

But thanks anyway for all of your opinions, we will have to wait for now to see if anything more comes out of it

im going to hedge a bet that its real. what it looks like to me is these guys discovered a cave filled with gear already stolen and stashed away here by tomb raiders a few thousand years ago.
the potential for discovery here is amazing if this is the case.

How are people saying it's fake with 100% cert, when there is no data to prove its real or fake.

Because the question is asked in the thread title.

IOW, the OP asked for opinions.

I also got no where using that kind of search technique.

After I tried the drag and drop feature in Google Images, that's when the results started to turn up.

I don't know, I'd like to believe but I don't. The face upper left at the very end of the video looks CGI. Impressive video though, gave me the willies in a good way.

Aren't there typically pottery vases filled with the treasure? How come they weren't stacked around?

These guys:

Those guys are used when someone has been mummified. Each of their internal organs are placed in one of those jars

Having reviewed the video the following can be stated:

If it is real, then the person shooting the video just ruined a priceless artifact. But chances are it is fake. Anyone that deals with antiquities, be it a tomb robber or an expert knows the last thing you do to something that old is touch it with your bare hand. The oils on the fingers are slightly acidic and can do damage over time to most objects.

But my gut feeling is that it may be a hoax, trying to stir up controversy over this all. After all if they were raiding a tomb, the first thing to know is whose it is, as that would determine its value.

I would say its fake.

The dust is only on some of the stuff, yet all the gold stuff is pristine. The sarcophagus wobbled. It wouldnt have lasted a single earthquake or even 100 years like that. Also it wasnt covered in any markings, or at least not the correct ones. SO this was a cursed person? Yet had all his organs and possesions left for his afterlife?

also....How many organs did this guy have? There are like a million little jars, well not jars but small novelty shop sarcophagus. Ordgans arent ever placed in something like that after mummification.

Here is a small novelty sarcophagus I found on ebay....

I suppose it is because the videos seem to be of the same location, apparently (see below excerpt, with the added emphasise).

I looked further into this professor, Azhari Mustafa Sadiq On, and his opinions on the matter. Don't mind the translation, as it's Google Translate. Here's the full excerpt from his site:

heres some reasons the critics here haven't made any serious points yet:

tourist reproductions are copies of original artifacts, so similarities are expected. the quality of workmanship to artifacts varied greatly by region, artisian, and the wealth of the client purchasing the works for their internment - so the quality of the workmanship is not a debunking factor. there were several large vases that may have contained organs. the sand is not anomalous at all, and its unlikely it was brought in as it would have been difficult to say the least, and a lung ruining dust bomb to deposit dust around the site.. most of the wooden items have turned to dust - many of the large statues originally held spears. some wooden boxes remain that were possibly lacquered originally. the faded paints on the sarcophagus are very real looking - hard to fake. the hoards of ceremonially placed mini effigies make sense, as these are the retinue of attendants in the afterlife. the ancient Egyptians did have gold colored paints and could paint clay vessels. real gold does not tarnish and any disturbance to the site could expose the gold easily making it look 'newish', as with many of these pieces. if the site was really found underneath someone's house, it would be very easy to conceal and keep secret.

does the above mean its not fake? no. but no one here has said anything that counts as evidence to disprove anything yet. Any real Egyptologist could probably say if these were real artifacts or not at first glance. are we not obscure enough to have an Egyptian antiquities archeologist expert here?

If I see fifty identical 12" sarcophagi, crudely cast, and without appropriate decoration, my mind just says mass-produced souvenirs. Also many of the standing figures have material between the legs, typical of cheap castings. It avoids easy breakage. But very uncommon in real artifacts. Plus so many things are desk or mantel sized. That's very suggestive of tourist material.

That's what made me come to my conclusions. You are obviously welcome to come to other conclusions.

Some of the patina looked authentic enough, and there are thousands of tombs to be found... of differing importance. But Egypt was a rich, thriving society for thousands of years... say the top 10% got a tomb around this size... do the math. From an armchair perspective... chaos, opportunity, luck... why not?

Too bad it'll disappear to the highest bidder and losing the info for future people... but good for keeping poor folks alive. Hard to gauge how to feel about it.

Very interesting video...many of the smaller sarcophagi are identical to the grey figures Egyptian kids sell to tourists, except many of these appear to be gold...or painted gold. Many of the other figures can be purchased in shops around tourist centers, so it's possible this is a makeshift warehouse full of really cool stuff, but not the real thing.

On the other hand, I really hope this is the real deal, and agree that it may be better off away from Zawi Haddas, our favorite Egyptian con man.
