Jane, I used to have a lot of pen-pals from all over the world too. It was so much fun! I would get so excited waiting for the mail to arrive. We would share so much with each other, get glimpses into each others lives, share pictures and small gifts and what-not.

It is indeed a lovely place!

Not much in the way of fossils, since Cody left I'm afraid!!

There is some very interesting geology See example here
But not many actual fossils I think!

Thanks Hunny, That chair was a gift from Scott Maclaren's family!! (my visitor pal with the RIB boat.)

I actually remembered the dowsing rod!!!! (After we had arrived... and the rod was still at home!!!! LOL)

Erm....there are....

South of Westbourne Cove, the first item of
interest was the stromatolite bed.

The phenocrysts will have some too.....albeit teeny weeny crustaceans .......and your next mission with the boys is.......

AYE - That's what ah sed wummin! There's NOT MUCH in the way of fossils!

No T.Rex or Triceratops!!
No Apatosaurs, Brontosaurus, Velociraptors...

Just teeny wee wans! Like the stromato-barabrith-ilites!

Well, I had another wee mini "gathering" on a camping trip at the weekend, catching up with my old pal Gordy.
We ended up at a Loch neither of us had visited before!
Turned out to be in a "Dark Sky Park" near an Observatory!! RESULT!

I can heartily recommend it as a cracking good place for camping / camper vanning, except for the midgies! LOL

So WOW, I've only just gotten back online and stumbled upon the Gathering Pages. Only read the first two, but will do a re-cap of the rest soon, as well as getting to the pages I missed of The Shed, last several pages, and the New Shed II Pages!
Looks like what I've seen so far that you guys had a Great Gathering!! I'm Happy to see that! I knew it would be a wonderful time for ALL of You who were able to Make it there!!!!!!
I was giving silent Best wishes for You all in the days before the Gathering! I miss You ALL Dearly, like I even need to say that right?!
