Old or New from your country.. no matter. Drinking songs are part of the history and as long as beer has around so has been songs. Oldest songs (
carmina burana ) was written in 11th century. Drinking songs also define some of the "drinking" culture country has.
Not quite as prolific as a few years back when the song could be heard in many bars and pubs, but the chorus can still be heard quite frequently.
It's a song about the Anglo-Boer War and General De La Rey.
Critics ridiculed it, but I think they were frightened and misunderstood it.
It's a great collective drinking song in the right local settings.

I'll not post the lyrics,as they are many,and would break t&c. But by far the funniest,most obscene drinking song I have ever heard that literally
had me rofl and yet shocked at the verses....Would be "The North Atlantic Squadron." Ya'll can google that for yourself.
