Does the father of one of the victims understand that the killer used a knife on some of the victims? This shouldn't be about gun control to this guy, but it is.....

What stinks is that the father blames laws when his child was killed with a gun in a gun free zone and gun control advocates need exactly this kind of mental instability to prove that everyone should be screened and that much tougher standards be put in place.

They say they aren't going to come for your guns but the awb did exactly that it made legally purchased guns illegal they just didn't come to your door an physically take them. Cheaper to wait at gun ranges for people who aren't aware and then jail and fine them.

They should also call for knife control as he also stabbed three of his victims.

The video in which he states he will have his retribution is more staged than anything I have ever seen.

You're wrong. I've seen countless "cringe" videos (videos with awkward people doing awkward things) and the video this kid made fits right in with an awkward person who doesn't know how to act. If he didn't kill people, I would have just thought it to be another "cringe" video.

...it is not in human nature to do this, people even trained killers in the army don't do this kind of stuff.

But it is human nature. Take a look at the sick and depraved killings in Africa, ethnic cleansing, genocide. Take a look at some of the sick things U.S. soldiers did in Vietnam.

You are so blind to the reality of what can happen that you're jumping on the "it must be fake!" bandwagon. Sorry, but this kid was a socially awkward person who didn't fit in anywhere and decided he'd get his revenge. I've heard so many other socially awkward people say the same thing.

Go to youtube and search the term "cringe".

This tragedy must not be exploited for purposes of gun control. This event is obviously being used for a political agenda. This is sick, pathetic and disgusting.

Rather, it must highlight the disharmony produced by western cultural standards, by closed elitist groups such as fraternal organizations and sororities. Closed elitist groups such as fraternal organizations, freemasonry, and all sororities must be ABOLISHED or SEVERELY changed. They facilitate inequality, dangerous networks of criminals who have raped, committed sexual assault, and this tragedy is the product of the disharmony they produce.

This is the cold hard truth to this event, this is what you must all take from it.

I live in Santa Barbara, the place where the shooting occurred, and my mom works at UCSB. I personally think this is not a staged event, but the political parties are milking it for all its worth.

If I had a loved one that was seriously hurt or even killed during an event like this, I would support a topic like this

You would support people saying your loved ones death was fake?

I really fail to understand why a discussion, such as this, is so bad.

Who is saying that?

Calling incidents like this fake is insulting to any human if humans lives were lost, no matter if was staged by the government, some gun anti/gun group or was done by a lone nut.

Are those that say this is a fake story really saying the story is fake, the dead reported are fake?

What an insulting response. You're entitled to think anything you want and I even noted that I could be wrong. That man didn't lose a child IMO and his grief was all an act. I'm calling BS on this. You have a funny demeanor, buddy.

Because of your expert analysis of his plea to ban guns or whatever you think he didnt loose a child?

Or is there more to it that makes you think the father is faking?

You stated you could be wrong so how about also giving an apology with that opinion of yours just in case you are wrong.

Because to be able call BS on what you are and also say "I might be wrong" but not offer what I suggest above for the reason I give is rather ignorant of the possible additional pain you might be adding to an already extremely painful situation or worse your just inhumane.

Possibly. I offered my opinion that this guy is a sham. His whole speech seemed to be an act and odd. I don't claim to understand everyone and maybe you're exactly right - but I'm calling BS on this because that speech seemed contrived and oddly timed. WTF does the NRA have to do with this kid going on a killing spree? That's quite the logical jump and horrible for someone to blame when their son is supposedly in a morgue

Usually when you loose a loved one much confusion goes through your head.

This is just when they die. Nothing tragic need to happen for loved ones to go through many different stages of grief.

Add a tragic event cased by anothers will and it makes that confusion a hell of a lot worse.

Sorry, but this is a load of crap. It is a small percentage of people that are in these groups. 99.9% of the people that arent in these groups dont go out and kill people because they feel 'left out'.

What a ridiculous cop out.

This is a failure of the mental healthcare system in this country, and a fine reminder of the view that many men hold of women.

My 2 cents...

This is a very tragic event. He planned this. He tried to get other 'men' that he knew over there that day and they did not. Very lucky.

He hit the victims in his home with hammers...then slit their throats. This is a crime of hate...passion...very personal. He then went to the sorority because that is who he wanted to be. He wanted to be them. Those who could control and get any man they wanted. It was not about him getting a woman. He said those things because he was afraid to come out. To admit that he was not "the alpha male" everyone wanted him to be.

It does not matter in the end as it was just another person 'off meds' who chose the wrong path to his enlightenment. I have said it before, it would be much easier if they simply ate the gun and did not spree. He was given all of the help that a family could. I feel for his parents.

It all adds up...it is not a gun issue...it is a crazy issue. He used a knife to kill half of his victims but I am sure the MSM will make it a gun issue.

For all the people saying it disrespectful to victim and their family to question this event, how sensitive is it of the news and media posting his video and showing the manifesto so soon after the murders, I would be very upset reading that if it were a member of my family murdered.

You would be upset by being given answers, details into the mind of the killer.

But you would be fine with random jerks on the net calling you liar one way or another after you just lost your child, you know the child where those internet detectives are saying your child is fake?

This thread is absolutely insane.

This sort of conspiracy thinking deserves its own DSM diagnosis.

People can be crazy and do these things all on their own: their doesn't need to be a CIA "manchurian candidate" conspiracy pulling the strings.

I know people who've worked with people who've murdered other people because they were crazy. Whether in a state of borderline rage, or delusional paranoia about the world, they killed people. And now they are in therapy to help them figure out whats going on inside them.

There's an extremely low probability of conspiracy here.

And of course the only way to explain his contrived way of speaking is by invoking conspiracy..

Aye..It's unfortunate that this site has such a high level of activity, otherwise I wouldn't post here.

It's a shame someone can hear those words from that heartbroken father who just lost his son and "infer" that he's somehow connected to a conspiracy.

It's actually #ing repulsive in it's derangement. The person who listens to that and doesn't feel sympathy for this man, and doesn't commiserate with his anger, has something wrong with his brain. In particular, whats wrong is that they don't feel his pain. They are relating to him as if he were an object: and not a father who just lost his son. His anger is justified, even if it is misplaced.

Do you understand what death of a loved one can do to a person?

Seriously people if haven't at least loved and lost , don't judge what you never experience.

If you never loved and lost in a tragic event where the lives were taken by another,

PLEASE

As soon as I seen this in the newspaper I knew it is all just a mass hoax for gun control....

Elliot like all the other shooters went to psychologists and was prescribed Risperidal, an antipsychotic medication. It isn't gun control we need How about prescription medication control? How about psychotropic medicine control.

It's all fake.

And he did it because he was taking psych meds.

And the guy who wrote Batman lives in los Angeles and that ends in "S" for Sandy Hook.

It would be funny if it wasn't so disgusting. This is a very disturbing development in the "conspiracy" world---smearing innocent victims all over the internet where their names will be associated with this crap forever. Not only do they have to deal with life changing tragedy but they'll have to look over their shoulders for psychos for the rest of their lives.

I think the father is faking. I'm not an expert but it's just the way I feel. I can be wrong and I don't care what you find "ignorant". The bottom line is we disagree and you take it to a personal level. In fact, in every thread there' are posters like you who derail and turn this into personal attacks. Am I aloud to think he's faking, Mr. Thought Police? Or is that totally inhumane of me?

You ever just watch something and find it disingenuous? That's all I've claimed: I don't believe him. I don't have to believe him and I'm not going to apologize to you or anyone else. This is a discussion and you derailing it as some sort of "hall monitor" policing how people behave is more disturbing IMO than me feeling the way I do. I'm not going to let emotion get in the way of what I believe to be true.
