I'm aware this is a pretty random question, but here we have a great diverse community in terms of nationality, age, ethnicity, socio-economic status etc, all of this means the community is an excellent data sample.

I'm just curious as to what food people enjoy, and to see if there are any trends amongst members involving any of the variables.

I think people should post the country of their residence, ethnicity and favorite dish to cook/order, just for fun!
(of course if you are not comfortable posting one of these then don't feel obliged to do so)

ME:

Residence: UK
Ethnicity: Russian/French/British mixture.
Favorite to cook: Pork Char-Siu
Favorite to order: Crispy Mongolian lamb with Lettuce wraps

You?

Personally I like to BBQ.

Any meat grilled is my favorite. Ribs, steak, pork chops/steaks, can't forget the burgers and bratwurst. With homemade potato salad and a pasta dish.

Do I need to say whereI am from? lol

Illinois

No you don't just say the country if you want, i want to see the trends amongst people, it's interesting.
Americans generally seem to love BBQ, like a lot of Brazilian, Argentinians & Aussies.

I think its due to the huge ranches in the Americas, means beef used to be cheap compared to other nations. I think that's why though I may be wrong.

I think food is a good think to discuss because its probably one thing everyone on here loves, I mean who can be a Human and not enjoy food?

I have to agree with you that Grilled meat is exceptional, Char-Siu is BBQ itself, but just a Cantonese version, so good!

My favorite dishes to cook at home change from time to time. Currently I like making a Greek Frittata. It is so easy...I use all organic ingredients.

As for my favorite meal at a restaurant...i really don't have one right now. I have quit eating at restaurants (for now) because I don't know for sure if the restaurants are using GMO ingredients or not. I suspect many do.

I am Scottish and French and I live in the United States.

I'm too lazy to cook but I love fajitas, bbq, pizza, hamburger and fries. its all good, I just need to use my gas grill more. i've been eating out more than at home for many years now, and I'm a little on the chubby side. :/

I need to get into being a good at home cook, I feel like i'm ready to make that change, for my health above all else.
mainly i just want to eat right so i can lose weight and get laid. >:|

UK resident.
29 years of age.
Metal head.

To cook myself, on a hob I like to cook stir fry food, and I am pretty nifty at baking Victoria Sponge cake from scratch.

To eat out I like steak. There is a pub in town which does a jolly nice steak, and a lovely pint of Guinness for less money than many places will sell you a steak meal on its own.

Residence: Wales

Ethnicity: Celt

Favorite to cook:
Garlic stuffed button mushrooms in gram flour,(ground chick peas)cayanne pepper, cumin batter, deep fried and served with fresh corriander on top and sweet chilli sauce.Plus a side dish of greek yoghurt with diced up cucumber mixed in.
Its only a kind of starter/snack,but i have it nailed and everyone seems to drool over it..

Favorite to order:
My best ever order was in Thailand, and it was a mega sized steak of the most beautifully cooked Swordfish I have ever eaten...Never got the recipe but it involved ginger and chilli, and was cooked over charcoal in a beach shack. There was other food with it,but the fish was so awesome I can't recall what.

I still dream of that meal over a decade later...mmmMMMMmmm.
