Emergency Broadcasting System

Not sure if this belongs here or not...but you know how the US has the Emergency Broadcasting Sytem, do we in Australia have a similar sort of thing?

Interesting that you would mention this today. While I do not have an answer to your question, I wanted to note that it went off today here where I live. Both the radio station and TV went into it at the same time in the middle of programing, but then just a garbled 3 second transmission and it ended. Very strange.

Hopefully Australia has one, as it has saved a lot of lives here.
