Okay, so the next thing I will try is to run a check on the external hard drive. Again this might take a while, so I will be back when that is complete.

Another thing you might try.

Go to Skydrive and create yourself an account.

Upload the content from the External, directly to sky drive using their software. Then try moving it from skydrive to your PC.

That will probably remove your limitation since it's more of an upload than an actual transfer.

Thanks again for all the tips and suggestions. I will try these one by one and tick them off, but for now I am tired and need to switch off... both brain and computer.
