Your Torture and Death to be shown as "entertainment" on Reality TV

I think the OP may have a point, but we're a long way between here and there for seeing actual torture and especially real killing on television. The only death I've seen on TV that is real comes on a COPS episode or the evening news. After all, we still have laws about that with no limits, no time constraints and virtually no geographic safety in running anywhere in the world. Murder is something society gets real offended over...

That could evolve over time tho. You know what I think will come first to test the public though? If it happens, we really ARE moving toward the Roman style 'The their be GAMES!' at the expense of the humans participating in it.

When or if they televise executions. Any executions. That's where I think the testing for reaction will start.

I recall some debate about making Timothy McVeigh's execution one people could view if they chose, although that talk died pretty quick. (no pun intended)

Reality TV shows are already showing signs of torture - forcing contestants to eat insects, etc

People in many parts of the world choose to eat those insects (some are considered delicacies) -- an act you call torture.

Also nobody "forced" those contestants to be on those shows. Those people chose to be on to win money, and I am sure signed consent forms.

Ok fair point, those chosen to go on the shows today are idiots but that shouldn't give people the automatic right to be nasty to them and treat them as characters and not human beings. I'm not sure it's entirely their own fault because the media deliberately builds up celebrities so they have higher to fall. This encourages people to take pleasure in their suffering which is not humane or civilised. And if it's ok to mock and insult people now, how far could that go in the future?

I think if they caught a paedophile ring and put them in a Reality TV show, people would watch and vote for them to die. That will be the start of it, they'll use criminals to "justify" it.

I was envisioning the ability to discuss society problems. Like Plato's republic, and the idealism behind scientific advancements. Or, the concept of the library of Alexandria. And the language developed, with science in mind.

Not the aristocracy.

Suggest some of those ideas today, written in the past, like no property, and you would be considered the anti Christ. Just 50 year's ago, even the mention of communism, or anything not waving the flag of American capitalism, could land you a death sentence.

They were in many ways, freer thinkers. In fact, our own nation was modeled after some of those ideas.

I think you may be underestimating people a little too much.

Yeah there are violent video games and there's crime, etc. , but there are a lot of people who genuinely care about human rights, too.

Also a large amount of society that can recognize something incredibly ethically and morally wrong, like the "shows" you describe.

I think you've completely missed the point. Eating insects is just an example, but it is used on "I'm a Celebrity" as what is known as a "challenge". Therefore the show considers eating insects to be a "challenge" to westerners who do not eat insects as part of their daily diet.

The point I am trying to make is that children and teenagers today are showing signs of schadenfreude - which is a sadistic pleasure in watching the suffering of others - and that, as a result, these children will grow up into adults who have the capacity to accept torture and death on Reality TV shows.

I just don't agree "they" will make the masses "accept torture and death" Reality shows.

Most generations seem to think younger generations are more degenerate.

It doesn't mean those "vulgar rock 'n' roll fans" really were vulgar or ne'er do wells , or that the "Twist" (dance) was nearly pornographic, for example.

Also...while I completely empathize with what you are saying, they want us to just roll over and die. They are doing everything possible in order to delay conflict. Remember the Occupy Protests a few years ago? Several of my friends who were heavily involved have since lost businesses, lost relationships, and lost their health. Well I hate to say it but our protectors allowed it to happen during roman times. It has happened before. It can happen again. In fact, isn't history doomed to repeat itself?

I actually some what agree with the OP's post.... some what.

I do think "Reality TV" will eventually lead to something like "The Running Man' or some type of reality show where people will die. I do not think "they" will have anything to do with it at all- but instead it would simply be the progression of things. We are a bloodthirsty Country. Entertainment on TV means nothing to us in a common sense kind of way. Look at the NFL and how popular that is.... today, those people we grew up cheering can hardly walk. Many commit suicide due to the injuries they sustain and the bottom line is they have destroyed their bodies and mental health to play a game. Now go ask them if they would do it all again knowing what they know now... the answer more often than not is "Yes". Now go ask fans about it.... most have nothing to really say and would much rather focus on the new crop of soon to be victims who will take the field in the years to come.

Bottom line: We love the violence. We love "Reality TV". We are beyond conditioned to not even view what we see on TV and being real or having any real consequence. We just keep tuning in. The networks keep pushing the limits to keep our attention. What do you think will come next? Eventually it will lead there.

I even have an idea for my own show and be honest, tell me if you would tune in to watch. I have said for years that Child Molesters, Rapist, and Murders should be moved from Prisons around the Country and given their own State. Like Nebraska. Surround the State with electric fences and barbed wire, put cameras everywhere and let them feed off each other and victimize each other. Survival of the fittest- and put it all on Pay Per View.

That would make Generation X at retirement age - which is when I think the problems will start.

I don't believe Generation Z will have even a shred of the same mentality that we have today. Compare today's Generation X mentality to the 'Greatest Generation' who fought in World War I - do we show the same sense of honour, respect, politeness, integrity, etc, etc?? Or is it declining?? I believe these Marxists in power are not just messing with our politics and our social institutions, they are messing with our entire mentality and values.

Too many doctors and people who have common sense and love for that to ever happen. They have this NWO plan and yet thoroughly understimate people. All their studies in the computer about probable outcomes mean nothing when people won't join them in it and their intention then is to kill everyone? Well that is already talked about a lot, and again earth has protectors and even resetters.
