There is only one race: Homo Sapiens Sapiens so no, I don't dislike my race.

I may dislike some individuals but they don't fit one physical category.

My sentiments exactly! People are people.

I'm actually more amazed that this poster seems to know the race of every poster on this forum and presumes that every poster on here hates blacks....

I have a neighbor who I really enjoy talking to. He's a conspiracy theorist. He's also black.

Mind = blown.

I have never made a racial slur at ANYONE EVER. Just because you've done something, doesn't mean everybody else has. Race has never been an issue for me in my entire life. The measure of a person is in their soul, heart and mind--not the color of their skin and really, using a racial slur against somebody during a fight is just weak sauce. If I'm mad at somebody, I personalize it to their own personal faults--not their skin color.

Tribes are mutually-beneficial groups. Sometimes the common denominator of the tribe is not ethnicity or skin tone, but their shared experience. Sometimes people choose to exist outside of the definition of a tribe. People are not required to select either an "us" nor a "them"; we are potentially self-actualized creatures -- we can become that which doesn't ascribe visual variables when choosing our course.

Sounds like something a grown-up would say.

If people would just realize the simple truth encompassed in your short paragraph, they could relax about the whole race thing and everyone could move past it. I had honestly hoped that would happen on a broader scale in my lifetime. I'm happy to say that where I work, if it's an issue that exists, it's an issue which resides far below things that really matter.

Same here. Homo Sapiens Sapiens doesn't have sub-species.

also don't confuse saying "i admit i am racist" with idiots out there saying "i am racist and i am proud of it". there's nothing to be proud of here. those people who say they're proud are most likely supremacists.

the amount of articles that keep coming out daily talking about racism as if it's some new and phenomenal and magic and awkward topic, even after all these years, is crazy. we still can't talk about racism in a comfortable way. we circumvent the subject instead of charging it head on. people still can't believe that there are racist people out there. they are shocked when someone happens to be more overtly racist than they themselves. they act as if the world just ended. when someone says the n-word, it's MAJOR news and that person's life is OVER with. the n-word is bad and shouldn't be said, i agree, but it shouldn't be the end of one's life either.

if we all individually just admitted that we're all racist - i cannot even imagine how much better of a place the world would be. how open we all would be.

sure we keep hearing that there's no such thing as race. and i agree - i don't give a damn about race, it doesn't exist to me! but that still doesn't help our relations one bit. the difference in skin colors and phenotypes still exist and that is what we consider race. racism is still highly rampant, it's just more subtle and sophisticated than it used to be. if anything, i believe people are actually more racist than back in the 50s or whatever. in a different way.

Yeah, no kidding.

Cut us open and we all look exactly the same.

... okay, maybe some of us have livers that look nastier than others, but that's a whole other thread.

I just hate everyone, sometimes myself.

I form hate due to interaction with them that went unpleasant but NOT PRESUMPTION of what they might do.

Of course all my hate is on an individual level and not as a whole.

I'm utterly realist.
But I have a policy that as long as you are a decent human being, I don't see race, I just see a good person.
Racism is human nature, IMO, and it will never stop. All races are racist. If you don't believe me then if you are white, go into black neighborhoods in Philly, Detroit, Baltimore,-to name a few. If you are a rural person, go into a jewish community. If you are black, go into the rural mountains. But it exists everywhere with all races. In my life experience this is what I've found to be true. You can find all different forms of racism anywhere with any race. It's just the way it is. People need to stop being so sensitive about it. That would be a start.

I think is more like, there are very low amount of posters on ATS with black background(that actually participate) and majority being American and white.

When a thread starts involving the white/black issue, its always a landslide to one side most of the time, maybe due to not enough perspective of the other side.

Of course there are many who are in middle ground, just that there isn't enough black extremist here to counteract the the few white extremist.
