Help Identify Mystery "Voodoo Pouch"

I agree totally that something "voodoo" would contain some natural element. We don't believe it to be Santaria, but are not experienced enough to tell.

I brought this to a local Tibetan shop, and they could not identify it.

I also think the colors and symbols don't say "South American". I think it has a more Eastern European feel to it if that makes any sense.

And you are right, the symbols don't have a threatening feel to them except for the triangle having eyes.

It's been killing me for 2 months!

In doing a bit of research on your pics, and what reason a person would have to place something like that near your friend's desk. I found an interesting subject of mojo love charms, small pouches where the photo of 2 people is placed in the center, face to face. It appears your charm was made by a female. It sure would be interesting if you found 2 pics facing each other inside.

Plus, can't really tell on a monitor. but to me it looks like the watching pyramid symbol is hand drawn on in perhaps blood? It looks the color of dried blood to me.

That was my thinking too. A Wiccan love spell based on it's feminine looks, and hidden placement of long term nearness to the object/person the spell was intended for. If the watching symbol was drawn in the makers blood, it was intended to be a very powerful love binding spell.

they are all directed at someone and you will only break the spells power by destroying (opening) it. It won't harm you. In fact you will be doing the person its cast upon a favor by releasing them from some bit of hidden skullduggery.

Or believed to be hidden skullduggery.

All cultures are filled with superstitions. I don't really worry about black cats, standing ladders, or broken mirrors either.
