A much clearer of our new destroyer

well ours is currently not as good as yours, but it was not designed to be as good as yours. its aim is to be able to launch missiles without being discovered. the new 093, 094 fulfills this task very well. so they are good submarines

Just because the Chinese are building a new destroyer with a phasewd-array radar system doesn't mean anybody needs to worry. It too our navy 10 full years to work the bugs out of the SPY-1 system, which was designed to perform a mission against a threat that no longer exists (defend a carrier battle group against a horde of Soviet bombers launching AS-4's, AS-5's and AS-6's).

There are SO MANY technical difficulties involved with phased array radars...and I will tell you this....they are getting help from either the Russians or the French of this thing has any chance of working. Even if it does I doubt it could stand up to our EA capabilities for that matter. One Rivet Joint or one EA-6B could probably hose it easily.

I suppose that if it sailed against us in a fight over Taiwan, all the sub drivers in the area would be betting each other a good steak dinner over who was gonna sink her first......

I see a lot of US arrogance in this thread based on the pure and simple fact that they or their government simply doesn't like China. The guy was good enough to post a photo, so why don't some of you guys be good enough to lay off the patriotic slurs?

Well OK. Let's get a little revenge for my Chinese brothers.

A couple of guys here rage and scream about how good their submarine fleet is when compared to China's. Well let me tell you dudes - your US sub fleet is nothing but junk when compared to the UK's and Russia's.
We've had years perfecting systems that you guys can only dream about. Yeah sure, you're ahead in other technology such as aircraft, but as this turned into a "my ship and submarines are better than yours" thread, I feel it only right to set the record straight.

The fact that the chinese leapt forward 25 years in missle technology within the time frame of one un-named president and a wide open door at los alamos. Makes this new destroyer interesting but not as important as missle technology and bomb yields.

I knew i had saw this before somewhere, so i rummaged through my Janes books and found it.
Its a carbon copy of the japanese kongou class although likely to be far inferior in components.
Notes about it (Kongou) include...
This is an enlarged and improved version of the US Arleigh Burke Class with a lightweight version of the AEGIS System.

Japan has 4 of them active.
I'm sure they wont be happy at the chinese copying their designs that they copied from america
