I am losing it. The excruciating pain I have had for the past weeks is nothing I have ever felt before. Two molar are almost half decayed and it is killing me. But the saddest thing of all, is that with 60 hours of work a week, I won't even have the money to pay for two root canal for a while and the dentist will not let me make monthly payments.

But here in Quebec, people on welfare ( les criss de BS) get it all free! FREE GOD DAMN IT! I met a guy on welfare who hhad been smoking crack for 7 years, resulting in complete destruction of all his teeth. Welfare made arrangement for him, and he now has the teeth of Tom Cruise, while i'm working my #ing ass off trying to survive another day.

I am all for a social net to help the poorest, but this is not fair. Someone who contributes nothing to society gets his dentals covered 100% while I have to endure this hell because I am in the "middle class"

Sounds like you are right to rant in this case!
Sucks to be responsible for ourselves when everyone else doesn't need to be responsible for themselves.

Do you happen to have any heart problems?

If you do, you can turn it into a regular health care issue versus a dental issue!

Sucks man, but the only way to get the healthcare system to pay attention to a bad tooth or two is to either associate the heart, OR tell your doctor your teeth hurt so bad your thinking of killing yourself........

I was actually thinking of doing something like that, Since breast implant is covered for transexual men here in Quebec because of the psychological effects of not having breasts has on them. Maybe I can say that I am going psychologically ill because of it.

We have the same situation my husband is going to have to have a saveable tooth pulled. Obamacare does nothing whatsoever to help people who work hard but because the economy stinks cannot get the care that welfare receives from his paying of taxes.

OP why dont you quit the job and try to enjoy your life on welfare if you think "They Have it all".

You don't have work coverage?

The coverage varies by province.

Using one case to brush the entire dependance... hmmm.

I feel your pain! I went through this with 2 broken wisdom teeth that I couldn't afford to get taken care of at the time. I was in so much pain that I was popping OTC pain meds like skittles. One thing that I did find that helps out with the pain temporarily is to get full strength listerine the one with alcohol and hold it in your mouth for 1-2 minutes a few times a day. This helps with the bacteria in the infected tooth and relieves the pain for a bit.

If they are too far gone to be saved you can remove them yourself by gently rocking them back and forth until they come out of socket. It takes some time, but it can be done. Do not knock them out if you go this route. It can cause damage to your gums and further infection.

No I don't have work coverage. Not everyone is in a union or have employers who care about them. I also did not say they have it all, but when you suffer as much as I do right now, getting your teeth fixed is close to having it all.

Before you buy-in to some super expensive dental work, try repairing some of the damage by adjusting your diet. Skate liver oil, cod liver oil, butter oil--anything with activator X (vitamin K2) can pull calcium out of organs and tissues and redeposit it into teeth and bones.

Check out the results here

Thank you Jon, I have also started to massage the gums surrounding the infected teeth with tumeric and it helped a lot

Personally, I would pay private to have the teeth removed.

In the meantime, I recommend Brufen and Co-Dydramol for the pain.

I have heard an old native trick was to swish gasoline around the tooth and it kills the nerve....?? don't really recommend it tho....
Oil of cloves is supposed to be effective...
Sell your skateboard and get them pulled maybe? or anything else of value...
Tough choice my friend...

I have had a lot of tooth issues over the years and I can say that oil of cloves is one of the best things for knocking out the pain from teeth. If they are bad enough I would rub the oil over the surrounding gum then put some on a cotton ball and sit it on the tooth itself and hold it there for 5 minutes.Between that and the OTC pain relievers it should bring you full relief. The only thing I would caution is that if there is infection,it must be treated with it being that close to your brain. This is in no way a cure, just way to get yourself some relief. Any of the OTC tooth pain relievers that work have oil of cloves in them. Good luck.

I've been on welfare here in Quebec for two months now. My rent is 600$ a month and my check is 610$ per month. I've worked all my life but I'm struggling right now to find a job in my field. How am I supposed to pay any bills? I can't. I would've to move to a cheaper place but they're getting rare in Laval / Montreal. I agree that the situation you described where the guy spends all of it on crack and then gets free dental coverage makes no sense. There should be a line where too much is too much, either drug tests or a limit on the amount of time you can be on welfare. You can't generalize though, my life sucks right now. I apply for jobs and wait for calls, not enough money to do anything else.

I have dental insurance. For me to get a root canal that needs a crown, my cost after insurance is $700. The first and last
time I had a crown, it fell off within 3 yrs. Even with insurance, I can't afford to have the work done. Since it was a back
tooth, I opted to have it pulled for less than $100.

Another good thing for a toothache is the Spilanthes plant. You can grow it yourself and have it on hand for when you
need it. It will numb the area and lessen the pain of a tooth ache.

I know life on welfare is total #, but at least you are trying to get stuff done. That some people have been on it for more than 10 years is what blows my mind.

Clearly you are not one of the people who abuse the system.
It hurts though when you see people who do and we have seen it, also we had a friend whose wife died of cancer, they had no insurance and since she was diagnosed could not get any at that point if they could afford too. She died a really bad death and they took his small home from him leaving him with nothing.

If you are going to use taxpayer money to care for those who need help why not those who are trying to care for themselves but get into a bad situation, or just don't make enough income even though they work full time.
