This short story is actually a tie-in to my yet-to-come trilogy of novels. And yes, in this trilogy I hope to explain how everything could simply be indeed an endless cycle... I hope I can find the courage to write it some day. And the time.

Oops, I just noticed there are critical typos in the OP version. On chapter 6 and in the end of chapter 5, the name of the boy is supposed to be Nathan, not Mitchell. Plus, less important but still bugging me, in Chapter 1 I forgot to put the first letter of second scientific names in capital; and I misspelled "yogurt".

I agree! Many regions on the north and south shore are beautiful, I love Charlevoix.

Montreal is older, it has its charm. Its a party destination and you can sight see, but its a city.
